[Necromancer] Path of Midnight
I’m all for it, it was always strange to me, considering it only affects 4 skills.
Yeah its odd. I agree.
aye, thanks Bhawb, spoj for the feedback and support.
eh actually all those -20% traits affect
2 for offhand skills, but they give special effects
5 for weapon skills,
4-5 for utility skills
I think it’s weaker because all necromancers have Death Shroud.

The warhorn trait also used to be only 15% and i think they wanted to normalize the traits and skills, so my guess it is more of an oversight like many other things…

well if you put it that way, that might be the reason. basically it means all necromancers have access another a 3rd set of 5 weapon skills.
but that does not mean it should be 15% and not 20% though. a 5% increase is not too much to ask for anyway.

yeah! plus warhorn get 20% and extra bonuses! well them warhorn traits are master traits though.
i think this is an oversight.
let us make enough noise until they notice us so they will change it to 20%
united we stand!
hmmm after thinking about the logic that “every necromancer has access to death shroud skills 1 – 5 so 15% only” i think we can cancel it out by saying well the necromancers’ other skills 6 – 10 are disabled when they are in death shroud and using death shroud skills 1 – 5 so asking for a 5% increase in the recharge time reduction is quite reasonable and fair.
fellow necromancer players, come and support!
although nowadays i play warrior only in sPvP hotjoin (not much time for team arena with guild members at the moment, been playing dota 2 everyday recently, and the new living story episodes, other games etc), i still have a necromancer build that i play in sPvP hotjoin once in a while and would like to see necromancer receives some buffs in the next balance update.
Why bother…it only affects 4 skills and even if it does get implemented. How large enough of an impact would it be? (Rhetorical question btw)

well, to be honest with you, i am secretly attempting to buff all other professions so that people might actually stop complaining about warriors being too powerful as their own professions are equally powerful.
but yeah since it only affect 4 death shroud skills, no reason they should keep it at 15% so it should be properly adjusted to 20% right?
i am looking forward to seeing a 20% fix in the next balance patch!

It isn’t like its going to throw Necromancers into #1 spot where we’re seeing 5 man Necro teams in all content. It is just about making small changes here that combined pull the Necro up, in a balanced way, into viability.
It makes no sense to be only 15%, all 2h weapon-set CDR traits are 20%, they affect the exact same number of skills, and are placed in the same trait area. Its just like the Staff Mastery trait.
The viable path would be to mix it with another useless trait or useful trait that has synergy with death shroud. Thus opening the door to another new trait to be implemented.

and which trait might that be?

Speed of Shadows is the only one that I can think of.
Or instead of mixing it unnecessarily with a trait that is only loosely linked to it… you simply buff it up to the standard 20% CDR for all adept major traits. Purity of purpose and all that.
yeah, it’s kinda weird that it’s not in line with every single other CD reduction trait.

Thing is, most weapon CDR traits also provide a secondary effect, like improved range or somesuch.
OC not all of them do, and as Death Shroud is a class mechanic rather than a weapon set the comparison does not quite fit.

you sure? all the CDR traits i can think of, at most, bundle a bunch of weapons together (all bows, all 2h weapons, etc.)

Nearly every trait that has “mastery” in it reduces it by 20% with no additional effects. Staff, Dagger, Minion, Ritual, Spectral, and thats just for us, every profession has this. Its off-hand or major/above traits that get extra.
