Out of combat.
E.A.D.
I think it’s something with damage done, distance between targets in combat and conditions that apply to you.
I PvP it’s different though, there it’s a mean, abusive child who decides when you may leave combat and it likes seeing you squirm when you can’t get out of combat after beating an opponent and the next one is incoming. When you die because you couldn’t get out of combat, it laughs in malicious pleasure.
I think it’s a set amount of time after taking damage & doing damage. For example, taking falling damage puts you in combat mode for a short time. I believe this is the exact amount of time it takes to get out of combat.
If you have a condition applied to your character you remain in combat as well. So a long duration bleed can be quite annoying. Maybe that’s bothering you.
Hmm. I could be wrong, but I was pretty certain that once you go 5s without giving or receiving any damage or having a condition on you, that you were qualified as out of combat.
Perhaps the instances you thought you would be out of combat you may have still have had weakness or vulnerability on you. As those are the easiest ones to miss noticing.
There is also distance if your in combat and stand by enemy player you still need a certain distance to get out of combat. I don’t know what that is though 1200?

Afaik there’s 2 factors
- time elapsed since damaged has been dealt or received (condition ticks count);
- distance to the opponent in question
thanks for the info, it kinda sucks standing on point after battle dead opponent at your feet, cleared conditions, used heal.. and still you remain in combat.
I did find that moving away from the corpse /area of combat works for me..
Then again.. i could lose a captured point for moving off it.
I also noticed that when my endurance recharged after combat that at the moment my endurance is full i become “out of combat”
