I don’t in general like separations from a game design perspective. Your game should be designed well-enough to not want them. Sure, an ability strong in X might be weak in Y, while another becomes stronger. But that just means you need to work your systems around that.

The problem in GW2 is that the things which are strong/weak are too samey. Conditions are universally weak in PvE, and universally strong in sPvP. If only some classes had each problem, that’d be much less of an issue.

I don’t think a full split makes sense either. Boatload of extra balancing work + lots of extra barriers for newcomers.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Okay how about this: We increase the damage on foes from condition damage in PVE. So PVP/WVW are out of that. And it is defined by the creature and not the skill.

With that PVE might been fixed. What about WVW/PVP?

What effort is invested in a more profitable way? Reworking or debuffing foes for condition or separating the skills by gametype.

Condition damage dealer should do similar damage to zerker but only if you use gear like rampager’s, not rabid or, god forbid, dire. Moreover, it should do similar damage as zerker using ranged weapon.
