So these “several thousand” people complaining about warriors and yet have no issues with warriors are good players? And all these warriors are so bad that despite having equal to 6/6/6/6/6 of other classes, they still loose? They can beat warriors left and right but demand a nerf. And yet when good players (who can beat anybody anywhere as any profession) choose a profession they choose a warrior and they somehow loose to these “several thousand” people who have no issues with warriors.

And yet for some reason I see more thief and mesmers. And all the warrior in sPvP seem to be hambow (where there is no mobility) I wonder why that is? If there is no trade-off why isn’t all warrior using a GS (with S+S lol) everywhere?

Seriously guys this sounds more and more like a rant and less and less like a logical discussion. As soon as you start to mention high armor plus high health, all your credibility are lost.

I Play a warrior in PvP. As well I play every other profession there. Almost every top end player who plays a warrior, including myself, openly states that they feel the warrior is highly over tuned.

You are using a very odd argument to suggest a good player can beat a warrior. A good player can beat anyone on any profession that is not good as them.

I have leveled every profession in PvP to 80 now. My experience and those of other players i speak too completely disagree with you. I believe if you spent a significant amount of time actually experiencing the other profession, you would probably be aware of the actual issue.

I assume you are talking about sPvP. Anyhow, warrior is a bit over tuned at the moment, not that much, just a bit. But mobility ain’t the thing that is over the top, and especially not in sPvP. There is far better options than warrior to move from point to point in sPvP than warrior.

And only reason warrior’s mobility is one of the best in WvW is because the distances are pretty big and warrior has steady access to mobility skills that keep them moving a bit faster than others. And the issue only comes up when the warrior is using melandru + lemongrass + dogged march and the enemy has no or really low amount of extra condi duration in their build and there for are unable to land any meaningful move impaires on the warrior.

Sorry, but you’re missing the point.
The annoying part about Warrior mobility is not their raw landspeed. That’s mildly irritating.

The annoying or rather frustrating part is the combination of:

  • Very good damage output.
  • Very good defence.
  • Very, very good mobility with skills which triple as gap-closers and gap-openers and raw landspeed skills.
  • Strong group utility.

The “package” is annoying. If a class which is paper-thin and falls apart if you so much as sneeze in their general direction (Thieves) has a lot of good movement skills and defences that’s annoying and kittenes you off, but it’s more bearable than if someone with top-tier base HP and top-tier base armour also happens to be able to outrun everyone and catch up to everyone.
All the while bringing the most important elite skill in the game.

Paper-thin classes have their own annoying mechanics for survival. If they get “sneezed in their general direction” then they should follow their class’ superior players’ advice… L2P.

Back on topic. As a warrior I do not mind having to target to trigger a skill AS LONG AS the skill will always go that direction and have no bugs (eg Bulls Rush, GS Rush, etc).

See target blink away: GS Rush to close in
Target dodges to a different direction: GS Whirlwind automatically to that direction.
I can see a lot of benefit in terms of melee combat and gap closure in exchange for escape.

What do you think?

You really need to play a warrior!

  • Very good damage output = very poor defense
  • Very good defence = very poor damage
  • Very, very good mobility with skills which triple as gap-closers and gap-openers and raw landspeed skills = 3 mobility skills from S/S and GS limits the use of other weapons and sorry but S/S is mostly for bleed ( raw damage sucks ) and GS..well only for mobility.

Aw, you lose some defence when you go glass cannon? That must be so hard for you, especially when everyone else loses so much more defence by comparison.

This is like first world problems, only for warriors. Warriorproblems. “My natural armour can only protect me so much better than squishier player’s when I forego all other defence.” You know, ignoring faster weapon swaps, tons of blocks, stability.

Again, individually, I don’t mind anything. Plus comparing ability-for-ability or even weapon-per-weapon is pretty stupid as far as PvP envy goes. But as a package, Warriors lose way too little for the benefits and well-rounded strength they have.

The 2nd one is wrong. Take Healing Signet, you no longer have to worry about bad defense because it’s outhealing most of the damage you take. Though that’s merely because the Signet is high healing to start with, which is pretty silly IMO. You should have to trait healing power for that amazing healing of 362 every couple of seconds, not come with it off the bat.

364 heal every 2 seconds is OP? it can actually outheal the damage a warrior takes? Seriously?
Healing signet is not a problem, the healing problems comes from Adrenal Health and Dogged March.
Healing signet is 362 × 1 1/4 delay (That is just stupid next to other professions heals), but when you add Healing signet + Dogged march and Adrenaline Health then becomes high heal but sacrificing adrenaline.

Most mobility skill in the entire game are effected by those factors. As well, most of them have similar problems as rush in functionality. Some mobility skills require ground targeting such as blink, that if the targeted area is raised or lowered in the least bit do not allow you to use the skill.

You really need to play a warrior!

I think the actual problem is that players such as yourself need to actual try playing something other then warriors.

  • Very good damage output = very poor defense

Funny thing is this applies to every single profession, but the warriors poor defense in this case is better then the other 7 professions defense. If you played all of the profession, you would be aware of this.

  • Very good defence = very poor damage

Yet the warriors level of “good defense” is higher then every other professions of “good defense”. The problem gets worse as the warriors level of "poor damage is as good or better then most other professions level of “poor damage”. If you actually played and leveled the other professions you would have the experience to know this. Untill you do, you are simply making uninformed statements.

Are you suggesting that GS does not have solid damage out put? Or that sword/shield does not let you swap to good defense and shield reflection when on a point?

Are you suggesting that a GS+S/S 0/6/4/0/4 build cannot kill other players? I can link multiple video evidence to counter your statement.

GS for PvE is great and I didn’t say it didn’t have damage output but for PvP is not viable, Nor WvW or Spvp, and if you going to post some warrior fighting some noobs or uplevels please save your time.
I use GS only for WvW and because it’s mobility.

Would you care to spend some time with me today in my PvP arena? We can record it and post it here as evidence to support your claims that GS isn’t viable. But gee won’t you feel silly if I win huh? So lets get together and put it to the test and document it. What do ya say?

Healing Signet alone is powerful because you have to do over that amount constantly to do any lasting damage. Unless you’re fighting a power build (which often do not have high toughness or vitality) or a GC build, most classes will not have that kind of power on them outside of conditions, which a Warrior can easily cleanse or reduce the timer on. If the opponent is a GC build or a power build, they’re most likely going to have to be in your face which makes them easy to take out, or they’re ranged which is easy to LoS or close the gap on.

Viable just for mobility (running away from a fight or to travel faster across the map) in a 1 v 1 is difficult to land any of the GS skills.

Care to give us a break down on each greatsword skill and why each, individually is so hard to land in comparison to other weapons skills? How much time do you have on each of the other professions that you are such an expert in “ease of landing” on each of those weapon skills in comparison to the other professions weapon skills?

If people compare the others Greatsword against warriors GS they would realize that warrior have the hardest to use.

Ranger GS –
Got a leap with lesser CD than warrior
Got evade built in the auto attack
Got CC to help with attacks
Got a block to defense (and the evades from auto)
Got a skill to apply vulnerability

Its way more complete than warrior GS and easier to use because gives a way for the target stay there and gives bonnus to the pet while attacking after using de CC.

Guardian GS

Got a auto that gives might
Got a Skill that pushes foes to him
Got a gap closer that blinds on impact
Got a symbol that gives retaliation and vulnerability.
Got a powerfull spin attack

Even more simple to use than the ranger GS. The Guardian GS offers what you need to unload your burst in the target by it self.

In the end warrior GS is more mobile than the others GS but also does a lot less.

You cannot use hundred blades only with GS. You need immo or CC to use, so in order to be effective warriors need other weapon to be able to use his burst capabilities.

In the end all classes are diferent and they need diferent stuff.

most worthless burst skill, weak autoattack, 100b will never hit anyone for more than 1-2 hits, whirlwind often only hits 1-2 times, unless you spin against a wall (lol pve). bladetrail can be side stepped like most projectiles, you dont even have to dodge it. rush is the most inconsistent skill in the game as far as making contact goes.

To be honest, i don’t care anymore, the game’s PvP is so badly made, the community is so bad and clueless as well, i guess that’s what you get from a subscription free game.
If they really nerf warrior till their hearts content, i wouldn’t even care.

the biggest difference between warrior and thief mobility is cost i think… to keep up with a GS/Sx warrior a thief will have to burn through utilities & initiative while the warrior will be able to retain most of their burst / defensive potential regardless how far and fast they travel. (yes, the burst skills left to the warrior may be ‘harder’ to land but that is besides the point, the thief will have no burst skills to even consider using left. I would take ‘hard to land’ skills over ‘no skills’ any day, wouldn’t you?).

in thief OP disengage QQ posts.. many people would recommend that you should not chase a thief. it’s not worth it, it’s dangerous, they will have the upper hand, etc etc. Most thieves would recommend that you should not chase warriors, it’s not worth it, it’s dangerous, they will have the upper hand, etc etc :P

That’s something I realized when I looked at the support options. Ele will always be a better supporter because he has most of his support already on his weapons. He’s free to choose between better survival or even more support while other classes have to slot support if they want to do that to beginn with. And it’s not like they have better survival build in their weapons or higher damage compared to ele.
