If you don’t know already, only ONE of your characters can get the home instance quartz node. Sadly the best way to take advantage of it is to make a trash character and park it permanently outside your home instance.

The way it should have been done is, give all characters on your account the node but only allow one character to mine it per day. That way you don’t have to choose between completing your main character and being able to mine efficiently.

Hey there Jabberwock!

I’d like to clarify this for you and everyone else: Once you have unlocked the quartz node, it will unlock the node for all your characters, though the node can only be mined once per day per account.

Additionally, the node will appear in all home instances (again it is the same node so only once per day).

This means you can log onto any character you want, go to any home instance you want, and mine your node.

Ah, thanks Paul, that’s really good to know!

I don’t know if you’re still reading this (or if you want to answer), but is there a reason that you can only charge 1 quartz per day?The only reason I can see is so that it takes 30 days to craft a full set of celestial gear, but when you can craft other exotic level gear instantly I don’t see the reason.

And what happens if we are unable to ‘unlock’ this quartz node before the event is over? Will we be able to mine it afterwards or are we completely out of luck and unable to mine quartz?

^Same question as this guy, if we miss this event will we be unable to obtain quartz for the entire rest of the game or will everyone receive it after the event is over?

Raw Quartz is tradable, so you’ll be able to get it from other players who do have their own personal quartz nodes. However, I agree that there should be additional options for players who come late to the game to obtain Quartz.

Doesn’t matter if you could mine it with all your characters per day (which it should) you can only convert 25 raw quartz to 1 charged quartz once per day !

I hope you’re not planning to implement ascended armor crafting/recipes in this manner I have several toons that will need new armor !

If the slow accumulation of Fractal relics/Laurels/Guild Commendations is any indication, I’d say we CAN expect Ascended armor/weapon crafting recipes to be acquired in this manner.

Also, you also need Exotic recipes to craft any of the Celestial items, similar to other T6 crafting recipes. These are only obtained from Fortunes/Supply Boxes, I believe. (Fortunately, the recipes are also tradable.)
