Yeah, it never occured to me that these would be account bound. Makes no sense. I’m kinda miffed I dropped the gems on them now.

I’d like ANet to at least give us an option to transfer or a refund. I don’t mind shunting the gold over had I realized.

In another MMO I played they’d never allow to trade or give away ‘gem store’ items as a protection against scamming. I never really looked into it, but there might be a similar reason.

I don’t really mind though. Technically you can give them away with the [Bouquet Toss] skill, and overall it’s a fun little thing to play around with. In fact, I don’t think I’ll ever tire of throwing roses at anyone passing by.

But seriously, who came up with [Bed of Roses]?!

It would be cool if you could have them sent to someone when you bought them. making them accountbound is pretty silly.

I think my friends and I spent a good hour throwing roses at each other and snickering for the rest of the day about Asurans being suave. It does some times make me sad that I can’t buy my friends gifts from the cash shop but those feelings aside these roses are perhaps the most amusing item yet.

So the Bouquet of Roses is a neat little Valentines day toy. And I guess the gem amount is reasonable. But its ACCOUNT BOUND!

No one wants to buy themselves flowers. People want to buy other people flowers.

Does this work? Can you target a running bot and replace their weapon with a bouquet of roses with the 4 function of this item?

If so I will buy this item solely for this purpose and carry it with me always. The idea of turning bot weapons into roses and then watching them swiftly die would make this more of a birthday/holiday present rather than Valentine’s.

Also I would agree with the votes to make the roses Bind on Pickup rather than account bound. That would make much more sense.

Quick question, has anyone seen whether this can be used outside of the cities and the Hearts of the Mist lobby? Richie Procopio’s video showed him changing into his town clothes when he equipped the item, so that made me wonder if it can be used outside of towns?

Edit – another question. On another forum, someone posted their bouquet had disappeared. Can anyone confirm that this was a bug (these aren’t actually one-use items, are they?)

This is one of this “Forever Alone” moments when I find myself buying account bound flowers then going around LA looking for other people that did the same. But then again there is still the option to send girls a mail with my [Large Bone] attached to it

I misspoke when I said the roses could not be used outside of cities, they can as long as you are in town clothes. I wish ArenaNet would scrap town clothes altogether and just make armor skins and items like the roses that you could use anytime.

You have to bind a key to swap to town clothes in the keybindings tab.

Also, the person who ‘lost’ them had been swapped to his normal clothes and could not figure out how to swap to town clothes.

I personally set mine to Ctrl + X so I can get an easy button without worrying about misclicking. It’s also where my left hand is, so I can easily hop in and out.

Rats, wished I had checked this thread before buying it. Looks like they won’t work as anti-bot tools if you need to be town clothes. ArenaNet just got 400 gems out of me. Ah well.

They should have added a costume tab instead of town clothes so you could use your town clothes in combat. Would have made more sense.. but this is anet we’re talking about..

Yeah… I nearly picked one up to send to my girlfriend’s main. Then I saw that they were account bound and I was completely blown away. Why would they make something that is a gift… on a day that most people give gifts… impossible to give…? Really silly imo… could have been a big seller.
