Gem store focus bother anyone else?

I thought it was obvious a long time ago that any new additions are only brought in because they can be monetised. Horizontal progression has been shifted almost entirely to the gem shop (endless back items don’t count), there are always links to new content and the gem store and everything is a massive grind unless, you guessed it, you just make a short trip to the gem store.
LA was never convenient. Anyone who says otherwise clearly only stood around and used the chat. Oh look, you’re in the middle of the crafting benches and need to use the trade post? Gotta run a mile that way. Forgot you had materials in the guild bank? Run a mile the other way. Please, as if that was convenient. The Grove was far more convenient than LA and even ebonhawke or DR. STILL is more convenient. The airship? Yes, you’re paying for convenience because everything is practically on top of each other.
Seriously? You know that you can use ANY crafting station as a bank, right?
Congratulations, you’ve failed to read. I’ve put the word you conveniently missed in bold. Second, you seemed to have a minor brain fart: resources in the player bank are treated as being in your collection.

I did misread that, my apologies.
I did not have a brain fart, though. I had assumed you were talking about needing items from your bank for the trading post. I bank items I don’t want to sell immediately.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
Is ANYONE fooled into believing this feature was implemented for any reason other than promoting gem store sales?
It’s literally the exact same transmutation system (I think charges are actually slightly cheaper than crystals were), except you don’t destroy the skin that provides the appearance any more.
Most of the stuff on the gem store are convenience items (like infinite tools and the 1%er passes), cosmetic items (transmutation charges, armor skins, costumes, dyes, finishers), or fun items (minipets, instruments, toys), all of which are the sort of thing that should be sold as microtransactions.
What revenue does Anet have incoming to continue to run the game?
1) New game sales.
2) RL money to Gem purchases.
Unless we players are all going to buy another copy of the game for the hell of it, they better get some players buying gems…. You can be uncomfortable about this situation all you like, but it is what it is. (necessary).
