Gossamer
I think you should sell, laokoko. As I predicted, ANet seems to be moving down the path of making some BL weapon sets seasonal. Some sets like Fused or Aetherblade may be better investments because they’re not tied to seasonal or real world holidays, but it’s always going to be a risk.
The one thing we can count on is that no item should ever be considered a one-time exclusive; ANet has proved multiple times now they’re more than willing to bring old stuff back. (A policy that I approve of, incidentally.)
It’s part where makes GW2 TP fun isn’kitten no one knows what Anet will do.
I think a bunch of people is kicking theirself in the nutts they didn’t sell their wintersday weapon sooner.
I’m undecided on lovestruck weapon because valentine is coming soon… maybe I should sell mine etc.
It is always a good idea to create some sink for the less popular material. Maybe Anet will listen and you’ll hit the jackpot. I dont’ think it’s just gossamer. Many items could be retuned. Just don’t know which.
I dont think it will be a Jackpot. Even if they increase to 10s per bolt again I wont be able to buy one of the more expensive precursors with it. It would just help getting gossamer instead of silk feel more rewarding.
As for your BL weapons I would sell them. The patchnotes said they wont come back this year, so likely they will be back next year. Or improve your wardrobe with them.
This is the problem with a player driven economy when you first establish tiers of quality first. Yes T6 should be more expensive than T5 and T5 than T4 etc but unless you later choose to tune supply to better match actual demand (or create a greater demand to match supply) Tiers become mere suggestions of value.
RIP City of Heroes
I second this notion so I can get rid of my giant bank of gossamer
I mean…
Its only reasonable that higher tier things should be worth more.
I think the price of silk reflects what happens when Rube Goldberg designs your crafting progression.
More seriously, the tier of the material matters far less than the crafting tier and what the crafting tier recipes require and Ascended crafting requires far more silk than any other material.
They’re special! They got aspirations.”
