Seems fishy....
It’s the same way since halloween minis… of course its fishy. lol.
I find it more strange that a person needs to have every mini that exists..
That’s not strange, they’re must-haves!
Then you spend. If you must have them, you pay the extra cost. (But don’t think of it as buying the same items twice. Think of it as buying the three minis, and buying the raw materials for the special mini.)
But for most people? No need to spend extra. What do the minis do for you? They’re a vanity item. And while I have plenty, there are several exclusives that I have consciously decided were not worth the extra effort and/or expense involved.
In the end, it’s up to each person. And “real collectors” WILL spend as much as they have to to finish a collection. Consider people who collect real life collectibles (for example, trading cards – how many packs must one open to get those last few rare cards?). Yet, these people still shell out for them.
As long as the gem store sticks to “nonessentials” like it’s been doing, I’ve got no beef with it. I’ve spent more than I expected to in such a short time, but that’s my choice. And, thus far, the prices seem fair enough to me. Anything I think that’s not true for? I won’t buy. (I didn’t buy the permanent tools, for example. Might have if they had the enhanced gather bonus, but didn’t feel they were worth ten bucks each when buying new Orichalcum tools is dirt cheap.)
“Real collector” here and I think you’re spot on. I’m happy to pay extra (or trade gold for gems from those who do). Only mini that has really left a bad taste in my mouth so far was Foostivoo…low RNG is evil.

At least that had the option of forging it OR getting it via RNG.
…Foostivoo was my second present. :p
