Just noticed today that the effect of the new LA content on TP prices seems to have pushed up the commission price too.

After three runs through LA and one circuit of the chests on the Queensdale Map, I actually lost money on selling accumulated loot on TP. Started with h43 gold…ended with h41gold (h standing for a figure I don’t want to mention).

So I either lost 2g on commission charges alone, or something is seriously wrong with the TP.

Anyone else noticed this?

1) This thread belongs in the Trading forum.
2) When you sell, you pay a fee up front, which reduces your banked Gold.
3) Use your pick-up tab to collect the money you got from selling loot. You should have Net gains.

Sorry…first time poster here.

I am aware of the commission fee, I mentioned that in the original post. My point was that at the end of the trading session I made a loss, instead of a profit after I collected from TP.

The cumulative commission fees exceeded the profit received from the sales, resulting in a loss. Hope that makes it clearer what I was trying to query

Did everything you listed sell? It’s possible a couple of items didn’t and so you are missing the profit from these while still having paid the listing fees. Hopefully if you check back later you’ll have made the money back.

did you take into account both fees? 5% listing, and 10% sale
e.g. if you sell something for 100g, you end up with only 85g

Yeah check your “Items I’m selling” in your transactions tab.

Most likely, you put items for sale on the lowest sell price instead of highest buy price and they’re still unsold.

If you listed items for sale and did not directly sell them this will appear as a loss until your sell order is completed and the gold delivered.

To add, you never walk away with less money in your bank than when you started, if you sold everything and picked up your earnings. The only time that could ever happen is if you spent money buying other things at the same time.

This is why I tend to not know how much money I have. About 100g of items being sold any time, 200g in items being buoght and resold for a profit. With me on a daily basis spending 10-20g on ascended mats. It seems like the amount of money I have is decreasing when I have alot of items waiting to be sold on TP.

not true :P
sell for 1c
listing fee of 1c (it rounds up)
final value fee of 1c (it rounds up)
costs you 1c to list it, you get back 0

I agree with everyone here that you have items waiting to be sold.

Thanks for the input folks…

I had no pending sales at the time, seems like I simply forgot to take into account the %5 listing fee on the last transaction and only deducted the %10 figure.

I eventually solved this one…with experience, seems that I was selling items for less than their ‘base’ cost allowing for deductions. So despite actually selling everything I did make an overall loss on the session because profit was exceeded by fees.

These days I’m doing much better
