The mobile app would be enabled for Android and Apple users. You can also access the TP via the website, similar to how Blizzard gave access to their Auction House through their website.

Folks who are at work, school, or wherever they are, can slip-in some trades when time allows. I know I did some trading when WoW enabled their mobile AH. But that got me thinking. Since the TP is global, trades would increase significantly if a mobile TP was enabled. But would that affect the economy negatively? Or positively?

I’m no economist, but I am curious on how this would change the in-game economy.

I think it could be great for the normal player…..but I feel it could be detrimental to the game economy because I fear it would open it up to bots / gold sellers figuring out a way to automate trades better than they do now.

If you didn’t need the game session ID or the game client running, something like this could end up destroying the economy.

Who knows though? Personally…..I would love to be able to monitor trades offline and make adjustments to buy orders and sell listings while away from my home PC.

As long as it enhances the game experience and bring more people into the game, that is a good thing to have. Just because bots may exploit this does not mean that, we wave the white flag, and have to give up on providing a better gaming experience for players. ArenaNet knows ways of dealing with the bots.

Having the ability to trade using mobile devices would create more “mind share” for guild wars 2 so it is good for the game. We shouldn’t let the threat of bots deter ArenaNet’s innovations and plans to improve the game.
