how often do the gem prices get updated?
Ususally they won’t change a gem price unless something goes on random sale A la, new content patch- or nobodys buying it because they think it’s too expensive case: Riding broom and tunneling drill.
Theres usually a sale on SOMETHING once a week- I dont see instruments go up often though.
Edit: if you mean buying gems with gold- then they are updated constantly- when someone buys gems with gold- the price goes up, when someone buys gold with gems- the price goes down.

They are updated in real time, type in a conversion amount twice in a row in rapid succession and the price more often than not will change.
The exchange rate updates in real time. Store sales on items are irregular and unpredictable (didn’t know if you were asking about the exchange price for Gems or the Gem shop price for the flute).
