The Legion of Charrs [TLC] – Fort Aspenwood’s Finest Charr Guild
You can’t spell Fur Affinity without FA! :3
I’ve been wanting to make a thread like this for a while. Anet says that charrs are the least played and that might be the reason why we have bad armor that never gets fixed. But even though our armor sucks, we still love charrs. I mean, come on.. big, buff, burly, with bulging furry muscles? Who would hate such a beautiful beast? Male charrs, female charrs, who cares! They’re all beautiful in my eyes <3 Anyone else think the same? Anet needs to know that even if we’re a small percent, we have our charr pride to compensate!
Once you play a charr… you can’t go back
I mean… the race lore, the “out of the box” visual concept, their beliefs, the way they see the world and the way they live their lives…. I cant forget what Ritlock said once: " “We reap each day from life teeth” this is what defines us
(edited by Regh.8649)
Agree! All 3 of my characters are all Charr. I Love’em!
We are fearsome, huge, intelligent beasts with claws, teeth and horns all over (and perhaps even fleas for those who doesnt groom properly)… what is not to fear? Power combined with grace… And still we can be nice, sensitive and healpful creatures – reaching out a paw to our fellow races in need – even to humans.
Love my Charr. He’s my main and one of the reasons I still play this game.
Yeah even if I hate to admit, we do help out those humans coughslavescough when they need help lol
Charrs were the main reason why I got this game. Luckily my sis pestered me into getting the game last year lol.
We are a small population in the world of Tyria, but we are the most proud race out there. Never will I leave any charrs behind.
Any Anet guys and gals main charrs and love them? Come on, show your Charr Pride!!

I think the charr have some of the best humor in the game, From Tybalt Leftpaw, to posing as a flame legion fanatic (very funny conversation ensues if your character is female) in one story mission. To Roj the rowdy butcher singing about meat all day long in Diessa plateau!
The dropped flame legion books at the abandoned camp in Iron marches “One hundred and one reasons why all humans should die, volume III”.
Oh and the ghost cows story mission of course!

LOL That book was a great read fur sure X3 I wonder if the Flame Legion and the other three will make peace someday. I hate to fight my fellow charrs -_-
The Flame Legion are A-grade idiots. Mostly. Leaders seem to know what they’re doing, it just suits them to make sure the rest of the legion doesn’t.
At this point I doubt they’ve got much time left.
That might be true but I bet you there is one or a few high ranking officers who thinks they’re on the wrong and will want to overthrow the leader and turn the Flame Legion around. Anet, hope you’re reading this because it might make a good story ;3
Don’t you dare disrespect the Flame Legion..
My Charr warrior is inviting ZERO Flame Legion to his birthday. :3
I’d invite them to my bday. Everycharr deserves juicy meat and delicious cake X3 I wonder if Anet will let us be able to join the Flame Legion in an update. I’d like to see what their daily lives are like personally.
Charr was the whole reason I even checked out the game to be honest. It’s sad to see them be the most underplayed race, but that might be due to all the horrible looks we have to begin with. I have a feeling more people would check us out if we weren’t so kitten in the looks department. It’s expensive to be a good looking charr
I initially had 1 Charr. My warrior Klout Steamsaw. Then I decided to remake a lot of my characters as Charr. Now I have a guardian, thief, engineer, elementalist, necromancer, and ranger. I love Charr.
Jack, it’s a face that any charr lovers will love but we are getting cute paper bag head covers soon so that might help out lol
Henge, that’s awesome! I main two charrs. An engineer and a warrior. I have a puny human guardian I use once in a while. He looks alright. Just needs to be bigger and furrier.
Come on charr loving Anet people! I know you can read this so post so tell us how much you love charrs! Maybe a cookie might be a good bribe? Oh wait.. forgot that it’s Meatoberfest! We got meat Anet! Hurry before us charrs eats it all! Omnomnom!
Once you go charr you will never go far….r… I think I did that right. Wait let me resay that…. once you go charr you won’t go…. screw it FOR IRON LEGION.
Don’t you dare disrespect the Flame Legion..
The flame legion are dense misogynist bigots on the level of grawl for their need to worship just about anything.
Come get some, smokelicker!

fixed*
“Make peace with your gods, prey!”
Charrs are awesome I love their lore, society and their NPCs.
I tried a Norn and a Human and they don’t even come close. All the pansy smallfolk can have their Queensdale train, WE have the Meatoberfest!
Even my puny human friends have said the Charr lands have great quest/event chains.
(I have an 80lvl Warrior in Blood Legion→Vigil, 80lvl Thief in Ash Legion→Whispers and lvl 60+ Engineer in Iron Legion→Priory…it’s like the orders and Legions were crated for this setup…)
I always love charrs, also in GW1.
I can’t and I wont play another race anymore, so are 7 of my 8 characters charrs

They’re still charrs and I bet one day when someone or something out there wants to destroy our race, we will join up to defend all charrkind. Okay maybe it happens in my fantasy world but never know lol I do wish that the FL and the other legions will just make a truce -_- Cant we fight someone else? I heard humans are puny, weak, and meant to serve us wink wink
I knew from the moment that I went into the Character Creation screen that I was going to roll several Charr. In fact my first character was originally a Charr Thief, that I sadly re-rolled Human before finding out that I could use any medium armor set I wanted, save for the other races’ Cultural Armor of course. By then my Human Thief was too far along to bother re-rolling again. So I rolled a Charrdian, Charr Warrior, and Ranger.
I think what sold me was the introduction video that is played after you are done creating your character. They had the intense anti-hero vibe going for them. Yes they fought along side the good guys, but they did so in a very brutal manner.
I also love leveling in Ascalon. I find that the NPCs are more memorable than the ones in the other zones. The crazy singing butcher, kids all excited about getting their first weapon or wanting a pet devourer, the cow training mission, and of coruse good ol’ Reeva the Cleava.
I love the charr to bits, they are definitely high on the list of the good things about this game. This is doubly high praise because I’d normally never give a moment’s thought to playing a character from that sort of industrialized, warmachine-style background. But something about the charr swept my usual preferences aside and made me fall for them head over heels. I can’t even pinpoint exactly why, though the design of the female charr (hallelujah, a “beast race” whose females AREN’T furry-bait), the relief of not being plagued by gendered armor when playing them, the closeness of the warbands, the writing of some of their characters, and the great fur color and pattern options all play a part. Overall, there is just something incredibly, unabashedly awesome about them, embodied perfectly in this line from their intro sequence: “In this world of constant battle, I am the deadliest weapon of all.”
I have three of them now, all female and one from each Legion, though the Iron Engineer is as of yet unplayed while I level some other alts. My only problem aside from the well-know charr armor issues and the silly four-legged run is the fact that I don’t like the warrior and mesmer as much as I thought I would, gameplay-wise. I really want to find a way to make at least one of them “work” for me, because I WANT to play charr more, kitten it.

You’d think if that were true we’d all be chilling in Iron Legion steampunk hammocks while our human servants served us chilled whiskey by now.
They were worthy foes, and now we’re allies. We’ve gained much from it. There’s no reason to begrudge them, we won.
Ascalon is ours again and our oppressors (Flame Legion) are hiding in caves worshiping one and other, waiting for us to kill them.
That’s their sad choice to make. We’ll accept nothing less than a full surrender or eradication.
If they are strong enough to forge a different terms of agreement, as did the humans in our war, maybe we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Big maybe.
The sins of the Flame Legion far outweigh our former strife with the humans. What happened with the humans was simply war.
What happened with the Flame Legion was subjugation of the heart, body, and soul of our people to false deities. Never again.
Anyway between the powerful orders and now their united front as the Pact, things will never be fully segregated by race or gender again.
You’ll have rebels, separatists, and religious yahoos like those dragon worshipers or the Flame Legion on the edges of the gates of civilized society like the stupid dogs they are.
But that’s the extent of it. Rest of the world is moving on to greater things.
Outside of the banter and the chestpounding. (No Legion like Blood Legion!)
The reason I actually really like the Charr is being able to see the world from their eyes after years of fighting them in GW1. They had a serious amount of lore and history, and even combating them, you find so much about them that’s intreguing.
Then to see them develop from primitive creatures, fooled by false gods (which the Flame Legion is fully guilty of and knows it), and rose above the ashes to be the most dominant, technologically advanced, and powerful race in the game is definately something you gotta respect from a species who just wore loincloths not 250 years ago.
With my first post, I’m going to raise this thread from the dead which was easy since its close to the top on the front page.
I started other races … human, the salad people, etc, but what caught me were the Charr. I’ve only been playing for a month now but there is no doubt that the Charr are the greatest race on this planet and the other races were put in the game to keep the Charr company.
“With engines of destruction, we have killed our Gods” sealed the deal. I mean lets get real here … anyone race can fight another but only the baddest race in any game ever can kill their Gods and become more powerful as a result.
I can understand why this race is the least played in the game. Its not the armor. Its not the feral appearance. Its the shear power of the race. Everyone dreams of embracing power but so few can actually handle it and the Charr are reserved for those that not only pursue power, but are able to hold it in their hands and be the better for it.
Totally agree with you Mal. Plus they look cute when they run on all fours and sleep cough >.>
I know there are a few Anet guys who likes charrs so stop being a closet charr and show your pride! Don’t make me bribe an Anet guy in wvw to post here cause I know one who plays a charr in wvw ¬.¬
To all the beautiful charrs living in the US. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the meaty delightful day this day brings

Quoted for truth!
I’d invite them to my bday.
I’m Blood Legion, so I’d invite hundreds of the worst the Flame Legion has to offer…..and hundreds to thousands more hidden Ash Legion to ambush them!

Agreed.
Some quotes from our favorite Charr:
“If I wanted to stop you, Centurion, you’d be stopped.”
“The life of a charr’s worth more than the life of a human.”
“When I can see, I follow no one.”
“I’m not afraid to play with fire,”
“I’d like to see you stop me.”
“I’ve got three stuck between my toes, two more smoldering in the corner, and a new
one on my blade.”
“Unnecessary brutality? I like the sound of that!”
