I don’t get it really. I know this isn’t Guild Wars 1, but at least in Guild Wars 1 you could farm for some of coolest skins and best stats in the game… that never grew old. This game, you are farming 2-3 lame areas for WEEKS on end to get one item. That’s not fun.

I understand “Legendary” is supposed to be the end all be all —- ooooohhh, watch me salivate over it —- ooooohhhh watch me swing it —- yada yada, meh. But seriously, 90% of the player base is going to say “No thanks.” There’s no fun it.

Not to mention, we are talking about ONE legendary. Every player in the game has TWO hands. The guys running off and getting greatswords, staves, and bows — good for you. The rest of us who like daggers, or pistols, or warhorns — we gotta farm two. No thanks.

Not to mention, some of us like playing more than ONE character. In Guild Wars, I had all the professions maxed and skills unlocked. I had fun doing that. I got my green items and my rare mini-pets… the game never got old.

THIS IS GOING TO GET OLD QUICK. It’s 10 times the farm-fest of Guild Wars.

Now, I know what you’re all saying – “No one is forcing you to get a Legendary Weapon… (in my best sarcastic tone).” You’re right, no one is. But I could reach Guild Wars end game content, max my toons, and enjoy all the updates and holiday events without resorting to the JOKE of 250 hours of farming in the same place every night. I could finish my Sorrow’s Furnace collection with my friends and have fun doing it. I could play with my builds and 1-man or 2-man Sorrow’s Furnance.

I can’t do squat here but mop up Plinx’s oil spills, night after night after night after night after night after night.

This model WON’T work in the long haul.

Have you forgotten GW1’s Obsidian armor?
I got GW1 very shortly after release, and managed an obsidian set late in Factions – basically it took me around a year and a half, only getting the materials in 2 zones (later 3), and needing a team of 8 people to do it.
If you think it’s too much, then don’t go for it.

While I have no desire to start working on a legendary for a long time, I am (very slowly) working towards the Foefire hammer, which takes a huge pile of charged lodestones. I’m happy with it being a crazy slow process of lucky CoE runs with some Forge combining.

I think someone bought every destroyer lodestone this morning. At one point there was only 1 listed so that’s a bit disheartening for someone who was saving up to buy some. The price of course has since skyrocketed as a result. Yay.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but it’s not really fun!

Same goes for Onyx Lodestone. 2 hours ago, someone bought almost all of them, leaving only 7 lodestones at around 4g and above each.
And at the same time, 5 × 10 new orders each were placed on Onyx Core, pushing the order price higher.

Someone is probably trying to do something here with the Lodestones’ and Cores’ prices.

Problem with lodestones is quite different. Some of them are I would say easier to get and some are extremely rare like corrupted lodestones. There should be at least some kind of balance. For example me. I got 2 corrupted lodestones from like 500 icebrood colossus elementals and I have 150+ MF.

Honestly it looks more like a bug than expected drop rate. I might be extremely unlucky but anyway there are thousands of other resources and this one is just one of many.

What I would like to hear from Anet is to check if the drop rates are as intended because this really does not look natural. If I would have one lodestone per hour its still 100 hours of farming and as you all know, lodestones are just small part of long journey leading to legendary weapon.

Also I would expect that e.g. in HoTW where it’s all about “corrupted” the drop rate will be significantly higher but I got one lodestone only. So I’m now only with 4 (got one from Claw of Jormag event) lodestones in total which is quite frustrating result.

I got an onyx lodestone and core from supply bags (either from centaurs or skritt, not sure) in wvw last night. I only killed like 40 mobs total to complete events while I was running around.

honestly, after 30 runs you have 1 lodestone.
It’s actually 4 lodestones if you make em out of the cores. Then you can buy 4 or 5 more with the money you earned from those runs.

So 30 runs, 9 lodestones. Not too bad really.

Step 1 : Realise you’ll need at least 100 lodestone to get your legendary
Step 2 : Divide 100 by 9 => Approximatly 11
Step 3 : Multiply 30 runs by 11 => 330 runs.

330 runs, of the same dungeon. Fun overflow.
