So before i realized they were bringing out ascended armor, i thought i was ready to use my Sentinel Insignias to make my exotic armor. Turns out a few weeks later, i find out ascended armor is coming out. Now that this new armor might have higher stats, the entire grind i did for my Insignias seems like a waste. Exactly how does ArenaNet expect us to feel about this. Players that saved their Sentinel sets simply to craft the highest armor rank, only to find that all the work they did went down the quaggan toilet.

hopefully they change items from soul bound to account bound to make things a bit easier and less wasteful for players.

You will still need an exotic Insignia to craft the ascended Insignia.
However, they will propably make the Insignia available through Guild Commendations, just like the Inscription and their price on the TP will crash, so better sell now.

^ What Wanze said. While we don’t know for certain, odds are very, very good that Sentinel’s Insignia will become available via the Guild Commendation trader once Ascended armor is released.

I also expect Azurite to become available again sometime in the future, probably when r500 Jeweler is introduced.

Yup, I was thinking this as well, it will be soul bound, and use ascended and T6 mats and probably would have to be on par with ascended weapons to make.

So when did OP craft and then claim he “found out” about Ascended Armor?

Ascended Armor has been discussed by Devs for QUITE a while now. Just because you were unaware is not really ANet’s fault.

It will also likely take a while to fully outfit your self in Ascended Armor, what where you planning on wearing during that time? It’s not like your current armor is IMMEDIATELY trash.

Use them to level to 500 and equip them until you’re able to make ascended armor to replace it (I assume crafting 6 pieces of ascended armor is going to take a while).
