Q:

So I was wondering about this, I dont know why it wouldn’t but I wanted to see if anyone else had checked.

So, I scraped together the mats for tome of the rubicon today happy Yak. Then I got a tiger charr cover in my blc, happy Yak. HOWEVER in the future I want to infuse that back piece for extra AR. I know that to infuse the backpiece in the mystic forge I need to follow the recipe = [book] + 250 goe + gift of ascension + glob of mist

I worry that if I apply my skin to the backpiece BEFORE I infuse it, that this will change the NAME of the item and therefore mess up any recipes in the MF – basically making it impossible to infuse (and wasting a lot of my gold >.<)

Does anyone know for certain whether or not applying a cosmetic item to a backpiece affects the infusion process?

Ty in advance

You will still be able to infuse the backpiece, however I am not sure if it will keep the skin that you applied though I doubt that it would be lost in this process.

If a specific weapon/item is needed in a mystic forge recipe, a transmuted version of that item will not work in that recipe.

This. Transmutation creates a new item and that item isn’t in the recipe.
