Because most people seem to like Lion’s Arch, and it’s the hub city?
Hub cities always get more love than the others.

Hoopa doopa.

That is all.

Lions arch was actually protecting Tyria from invasions by Zhaitan since Cobiah founded it.

It is the first city, or now an nation with southsun being under its control(and possibly Orr?) to treat every species equally(Not sure if the laws against norn or charr still stand in Kryta.)

The pirates must follow Lions Arch laws, or they will be arrested, so technically they are privateers, operating within the law. They don’t support the Consortium, but they haven’t broken any laws so they have their hands tied.

Canach was harming Lions Arch citizens, so he was a menace, regardless of intentions.

When have they ever competed with local governments? All the major cities support them.

The Mist Wars sounds more like they are defending, not invading, based on NPC dialogue.

They don’t have a trade agreement with bandits. They hate bandits. They just would prefer not getting attacked by them to being at war with their forces.

Name one nation against lions arch and I will delete this post.

North Korea.

XD Hilarious. Btw, if Cantha continued its xenophobic, human-supramacist, and expansionist policy of the Usoku era, once Bubbles is dealt with we might see an Imperial invasion of Lion’s Arch.

Yeh, but N. Korea is against ANYONE that can feed themselves!!!

There is literally nothing in, around, or about LA that is worth my actually going to it or through it.

Mystic toilet!

Well, LA is a “nice place to visit——-but I wouldn’t want to live there” (sound familiar??)

Oh this sounds too much like the Sea of Sorrows book over again, pro-Krytan extremists who want Lions Arch to be taken over. If you read the book you’ll understand where the city and it’s people come from and what beliefs it’s built on. It’s intended to be a sanctuary for all races coming together for trade and defense against invading forces particularly the Risen as they have experienced it… But other than that, they will remain independent and seek for the best of its citizens not the citizens of Kryta, Black Citadel, Rata Sum, The Grove, Hoelbrak etc. that’s why lions arch is good the way it is, it prevails because it defends it’s people without attachment or specific affiliations to any external forces. Those who reside or stay or are interested in Lions Arch automatically accepts its stance, if they don’t, they can live or go elsewhere. Marriner and those that defended the city gave their lives to protect it and it’s ideals of being that neutral fortified safe house for everyone. In fact bc of Lions Arch and the collaboration of different races especially in the construction and defense against Zhaitan’s offense (essentially the first demonstration of a Pact-like effort), it has brought us more equality and harmony, else you’d likely still be fighting wars for many years against other races… Anyone against it… Doesn’t believe in freedom and equality in races in essence…

The Pact is not Lions Arch. I think some people equate the two, but they are not the same. The Pact defeated Zhaitan (supposedly, though there are hints it’s not what we think). The Players are part (should be leader) of The Pact.

Lions Arch successfully did nothing while the cities you named put lives, money, and tech to use to defeat the dragon. If it came down to it I could see the Charr siding with the queen to drive out perceived threats.

I understand the whole beginning is a bunch of tomfoolery to show dislike for the living story having a 3 month focus related to Lion’s Arch, directly or non, I must respond to them…

1. The Support of Minister Caudecus and his Bandits… in the attempt to Overthrow the Queen of Kryta by Engaging in a Ceasefire/Trade Agreement with his Forces (NPCs in Kessex Hills, Human Personal Story)

I think you’re mistaking ceasefire with centaurs for this grotesquely false information. And that is not in an attempt to overthrow the Queen of Kryta (by gods man, capitalize fewer words!), it is an attempt to be rid of all racial biases.

2. The Harbor of dangerous Pirates and Criminals within the City

You act like they let murder occur on the open streets.

They don’t.

3. The Support of the Consortium: A criminal organization that Engaged in the Exploitation of Refugees in Southsun Cove

The Consortium may be profiteering idiots, but they’re not criminals.

And Lion’s Arch was actually working against that exploitation.

4. The Offensive Actions against Canach who was attempting to Combat such an Invasion

By endangering the lives of individuals who could not protect themselves from enraged karka? Right, Canach is such the fallen hero.

5. The Exploitation of Resources around Tyria in direct Competition against Local Governments

…And where is this exactly? The only place they’re using resources from the land themselves is in eastern Gendarran Fields – which, by the by, is their territory.

6. The “Neutral” or otherwise Non-Engagement of Lionsguard against the Elder Dragons in spite of their “Glorified Dragon Bash” Festival

You clearly didn’t see the Lionguard working on Claw Island, or of those that went to Orr. The Lionguard and Lion’s Arch have been quite busy with trying – albeit not well in recent times – to keep the Sea of Sorrows clean of risen. Kryta would have been overrun over a century ago if not for Lion’s Arch (see Sea of Sorrows novel).

7. The Continued Hostile Invasion of the Mists and the Engagement of other Worlds… a War on Tyria elsewhere in the Mists Unjustified

Technically not Lion’s Arch’s doing, but that of the Mist Warriors. And, for the record, they’re defending, not invading.

And lore-wise, we don’t know exactly what those enemy forces are. Nothing makes mention in WvW of other worlds.

8. The Continued Efforts to Undermine Local Governments in order to advance the Power of Lion’s Arch and thus attempt to Engage in the Dominiation of Tyria

Quite the vivid imagination there. No such thing is occurring. Not even an implication.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

To clear up some failures of understanding I will attempt to defend my claims. I will focus on a few of them this time….

1. The Support of Minister Caudecus and his Bandits… in the attempt to Overthrow the Queen of Kryta by Engaging in a Ceasefire/Trade Agreement with his Forces (NPCs in Kessex Hills, Human Personal Story)

There is no doubt that LA has a ceasefire or otherwise with Caudecus that gives him the room to exist. Without the support of LA: He wouldn’t pose a danger to the stability of Kryta. By supporting him the Council of LA is supporting the overthrow of a government in exchange for one that would be in theory more profitable. The Minister has probably promised better trade arrangements to LA and thus LA is engaged in traitorous activites against its own (former) people.

Thus claim 8 is also observed.

2. The Harbor of dangerous Pirates and Criminals within the City

Look all you have to do is go straight north outta the LA gate. Pirates are raiding the local farmlands. To claim that “pirates in LA are happy do-gooders” is like claiming that “terrorists do not terrorize”. These people are engaged in Crimes Against Kryta and to suggest that “it doesn’t happen in LA therefore its okay” is to suggest that “it is okay to let criminals run free”. They should be executed for all the killing and raiding of innocent locals. There is no excuse for the Council to provide shelter to the enemies of Peace.

In fact if these pirates didn’t have a place to sell their goods it would be unlikely that so many pirates would exist in the first place. Thus many areas of Tyria would be safe. By allowing them to exist they continue to Undermine Local Goverments as stated in 8… observed once again.

6. The “Neutral” or otherwise Non-Engagement of Lionsguard against the Elder Dragons in spite of their “Glorified Dragon Bash” Festival

Claw island was defended by Pact forces not Lionsguard. Furthermore any efforts ever made against Risen were Defensive in nature (protecting their trade routes) and not Offensive. I don’t see any Lionsguard in Orr. How about Arah? What about Jormag? Didn’t think so. To claim that Lionsguard has “a part in the outcome of the dragons” is false… they instead allow other people to “fight their battles”.

I will consider adding more information to my charges against Lion’s Arch in time… nonetheless to defend Lion’s Arch is to defend Crimes Against Tyria…

Indeed it is so…

THE MASTER HAS SPOKEN!

You forgot about how they are allied with the Centaurs against Kryta.

They aren’t allied against Kryta. If they would, that would mean lionguards attacking Krytan merchants, not giving them permission to trade, and burning the villages. – instead they defend trade routes and Krytan merchants.

Instead, they made a treaty with the centaurs that says ‘lionguards won’t harm centaurs if they don’t harm lionguards or havens’ – and havens are accepting refugees.
