From the name it just looks like some kind of food. That stuff is usually L80 food, like the ones that dropped aside from the candy. Although I can make stuff having cooking at 400, with no level 80 I can’t eat it. I guess it takes a lot of experience to eat a cake.

Try and see it from the perspective of those that bought Rich Coffers. They had (1) no knowledge of the recipie and (2) zero chance of obtaining one. Yet they still bought them.
The compensation is very fair and generous from ANet, and I’m sure it’s appreciated by those it’s intended for.

What you’re asking for is ridiculous from then sense that with the current knowledge, purchase of a Rich Coffer yields a gauranteed return. You didn’t buy any before, and now that they’re fixing them and compensating players that DID buy it before it worked correctly, you’re complaining? Sounds like a whiny grab at free stuff to me.
It’s COMPENSATION. Something that others who already took part missed out on due to a bug. You (and I, who also did not buy any rich coffers) are entitled to NOTHING.
There was no info because it wasn’t in the game. It was supposed to be in the chest, but it was not.
They have now added it to the chest, and they are going to send everyone who had previously bought one the recipe for free, because if it had worked as intended originally, they MIGHT have gotten one.
You can buy them now and have a chance to get the recipe.
Oh, and the wiki is updated by players, not ANet. It’s not a valid source for any sort of legality claim.

Question 1: Did you buy any Rich Coffers?
If Yes: You get a recipe because you were affected by the bug.
If No: You do not get a recipe because you were not affected by the bug.
The Official statements by ArenaNet indicated that recipes were supposed to be there. Since you didn’t buy any Rich Coffers you were never impacted by the bug and also clearly had no interest in taking a chance on the recipe. Now that they have fixed the bug and are compensating players whose chances were unfairly set to 0% you suddenly claim to want the recipe and feel you should also get it for free simply because you want it now despite your earlier lack of interest.
The official announcements all said that there were recipes in the Rich Coffers, so your argument that you didn’t buy any because there was no exclusive content is coming from your reliance on your (incorrect) opinion (informed by using the wiki, which accurately shows what you were able to get).
Your not researching the coffers is not ArenaNet’s problem, nor is it one which they could even hope to track for freebie hand out purposes.

I don’t know if it was on the item description 100%, but if you looked at the notes on June 11th (and for at least ~week later) they did say that the Rich Dragon Coffers contained an recipe. If you notice they have the horn and the fireworks listed under the gem store items, those were not there on June 11th. The page was edited, and I assume that once they realized that the drop rate of the recipes was 0 they edited the Rich Dragon Coffer entry so people wouldn’t buy them just for a recipe when there was no chance at getting it.
Last week I did quote that page and the word recipe was listed in the description.

Anet most likely noticed this bug, changed the description of the rich dragon coffers to not confuse people into buying them for a recipe. Or to advertise false rewards.
Now, they are sending everyone who bought them a free recipe because they should have had the chance to get it before.

Why are you not complaining about the free minis that everyone who bought gems with real money since “X date” received (as that was an unexpected surprise, not a bug fix on their part).
Why is this recipe such a big deal to you? You can still buy RDCs and have a chance to get it, and even if you don’t, it’s just a food recipe.

You can’t be “ripped off” if you didn’t participate. You CHOSE not to buy and are thus NOT ENTITLED to a chance to get a recipe.
Please review the MANY threads that have already referenced the missing recipe that cited the original text of the website announcements that clearly indicated that the recipe should have been included. The websites do not currently list the recipe because they discovered that they did not include the recipe.
Your problem goes back to the beginning when you relied upon the wiki for your information instead of the official announcements.
It is not a “silent” update…. that would mean it wasn’t listed anywhere and they just wanted to “sneak” something in.
It was on the website. Websites can be edited you know, and edited without anyone realizing it. The page that talks about the Dragon festival has been heavily revised since the original release, not their fault you relied on the wiki and didn’t bother to look at exactly what it said in the trading post.
I remember before Dragon Bash came out the wording on the Rich Coffers seemed to imply that the tickets would be guaranteed (or very common) from the Rich Coffers…..and we all know that isn’t true. Original wording released on the website for Dragon Coffer Tickets " You can find weapon tickets inside Rich Dragon Coffers and (rarely) in Dragon Coffers", and that wording is drastically different now. So really, get over it. You’re going on like you’re entitled to something when you aren’t.
Did you buy any rich coffers? Dang, we’re sorry it said there were recipes but there weren’t. Anet is gonna fix that.

Have you seen the stats of the new food? Its insane: 260 mixed stat + 5% crit + 20% MF + 10% EXP. Clearly superior to pretty much any other food available, and Im still waiting for the recipe to appear on the trade post, as rich coffer buyers are currently trying to flog it for 40 silver each. Looking like P2W atm unless something changes
