I know loads of people that opened just a few hundred and got a ticket.I opened about 1000+ and i have 4 tickets…Play more, open more..Theyre so easy to get.

And other people have opened thousands and got jack, that’s how RNG works and why people are complaining. It took me 1300 coffers to get one ticket, for example.

Ticket for achievement is wrong imo.The weapon will lose being special right there…since every man and his wife and his kid will be wearing one after having done 10 achievements….The RNG on these things is to keep it a special item.

Who gives a kitten if the weapon is “special”? Some of us choose weapon skins because we like the way they look, not because other people don’t have them.

LOL

And just because you like something doesn’t mean that you should automatically get one.

That’s the beauty of RNG whether someone has 2 copper or 2000g they both have equal opportunity to get that ticket.

He isnt saying we should automatically get them; we would have to complete achievements to get them.

And I there isn’t an equal chance. 2000g will buy more boxes than 2 copper (lets ignore the fact 2 copper won’t buy you a single coffer)
If you enter in 15 different lotteries (as different coffers are essentially different lotteries) or you enter in 1. You will have more chance to win as you have more opportunities to win. The % per lottery stays the same; but as you participate more often you will have more chance to win than the person who only enters once.

However, if you mean the chance would be the same if they both opened the same amount of coffers; yes you’re right.

That out of the way…
I do agree with getting a ticket from achievements; even if this would mean you’d have to complete all the achievements. This would keep the weapon rare for those who care about that; it would mean you’d actually have to work towards it, and those who want to gamble to get one could do so.

Personally I have gotten a ticket from somewhere around 1k boxes, so I’m happy. However I would like a way to work towards something instead of clicking boxes.

I know guildies that have spent around 300-400$ to get a fusion weapon, do you have any idea how crazy that is?

It’s not crazy. It’s bad and they need to stop even if they can afford it. By doing this and condoning Anet’s current practices they are actively and directly making the game less enjoyable for the rest of us.

That’s the beauty of RNG whether someone has 2 copper or 2000g they both have equal opportunity to get that ticket.

I can’t even begin to fathom the amount of fanboyism it takes to come to that conclusion.

I thought the drop rates were fairly high as I got mine from my 3rd normal coffer.

I’m safe. I’m fat. I’m a noob.

Man and I thought I had bad luck. Did roughly 600 coffers got nothing, so I decided to purchase an additional 600 coffers (12g or so it ended up being). Finally got a ticket in the last 10 coffers of that batch of 600. Safe estimate was 1200 coffers before I got a ticket.

Two guildies: 3 tickets each in under 200 coffers. WTF. <— no joke, I was with them when they got them, words cannot express how sour I was when they were both like “omg got another one!” then “OMG another one!!” And I’m sitting there opening hundreds of coffers and nothing.

In the end I’m satisfied I at least got the staff I wanted.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.
