Official Stance on AFKing?
Yeah, good idea. If you want people to stop playing that is.

It’s never gonna happen. They already throw ya out if you’re gone too long. That’s all they’re ever gonna do.

Do you mean other than the ones that are not obviously playing as it is?
You can’t report someone for being AFK as a botter, unless they are using something to prevent disconnections while they are AFK, having input without human interaction, which is what a bot does.
But if they didn’t have any sort of interaction, the game would desconnect them So it’s safe to assume that if someone is 24/7 standing in some spot and they absolutely never respond to anything, and barely use any skills, it’s highly likely they are using something like an automated input program to stay in the instance without being kicked or sharing the account, or some sort of alien undead that does not require sleep, as humans have to sleep.

Yes. I have never afk-leeched an event (well, intentionally at least), but i tend to go afk for RL-related reasons often enough that this proposal would kitten me off heavily. I doubt i’d be the only such person. In fact, i’m sure that it would irritate a lot of people.

I left my computer on while the event was going, watched movies with my char not moving then joined in when the knights popped and fought the holo for the chest then back to afk while waiting on next spawn. Bet i got reported a ton.
