Guild Wars 2

Before GW2 came out anet talked about how their dynamic events will create a sort of living world, and the world will changed based on those events.

With nobody ever gaining ground in these dynamic events, it quickly became apparent that the world was stale and unchanging.

So then came the living story, an update for at first a month, with a few one time events and eventually evolved into this 2 week cycle we have now. But still nothing changes, the game world doesnt change except introducing temporary areas that we can no longer access, not quite the same as losing something.

Is anet finally gonna make good on their promise and actually take something away from us? Is LA just going to be a crater where the city stood after this is done? Obviously it will be rebuilt eventually, it already has from being completely destroyed before; but we need some reason to believe anet is willing to do this, some proof of this.
