If you walk towards the Tengu door during the LA invasion, a hailstorm of arrows will rain down on the dredge there… I think this form of activeness in an otherwise invisible race, is a good sign of future involvement. Now, I realize hiding behind their door and shooting whoever gets near could simply be taken as their usual isolationism, but until now, we have never really seen them get invovled in anything, so the fact that the devs added this little touch, seems to forshadow future involvement.

They were always going to be involved. just in current lore they are Passive

If there is one thing this update is showing us, it is that Scarlet is succeeding in entrenching herself into LA. History has proven when an enemy succeeds in doing this, the occupied city is usually theirs for quite some time. So what Zardul says may be true, once their new neighbor settle down and gets comfortable and turns theirs eyes to them next, I am sure their role in the overall story of the game will be coming out.

I don’t think they’re gonna be involved.
On the contrary, if their new neighboors are so bad, they will close the door even more.

^^ unless their new neighbors… or even… dragon minions, push into tengu lands launching our next campaign of salvation into isolated and unwelcoming, but beseiged territory. But that’s a long shot. either way, I see their sudden activity at this pivital point as forshadowing, or prehaps even, a turning point.

ArenaNet in an interview did say that after the season 1 finale of the living story (March 4th) that they’re going to take a break from the living story and focus on updating features and adding cool stuff! I also heard that before the game was released that they had been working on those ares, but they just didn’t have any npc’s or stuff to do in those areas so they left them out for release. So, I think there is a good possibility that they may add those areas this year (: !
