The Breaking of Tyria – Did everyone miss it? No speculation, no discussion?

The world has been cracked – what kind of world will it be and how will we keep it from breaking apart?

So is it from within the cracks that the rest of the hoards will descend upon Tyria, generating a need for the newly sentient beings whom we have been so fond of expand into our realm – as some might have skills we haven’t honed or don’t even possess?

Yep, I love the lore that could be… and I believe that this game’s players can add a lot to the story if we are ever allowed to.

I don’t see any cracks.

Just a blue light showing the path of magic within a ley line so that players can see and tell from the surface appearance of Kryta→Thaumanova→Arid→Jungle where said ley line is going.

I don’t think we’ll be having an intro-to-Eye of the North repeated (Eye of the North began with a bunch of earthquakes and Anet went the second mile to add camera shakes to the towns near the access points to EotN (which were made by said earthquakes)).

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

The truth of the matter is that we have no idea what’s happening in Season 2 of the LS yet. The only things we know for sure is that Scarlet hit the nexus of the Ley Lines and that we’ve awoken what’s most likely going to be Mordremoth.

There are still a few possibilities that have yet to be speculated about:

1. As the OP mentioned, the world looks like there will be some major changes concerning the power that was released from the Ley Lines. Whether it’s an actual crack or just a scarred path from the energy is yet to be seen.

2. Scarlet may have been after the dragon, or she may have been after something else. Power radiates more like the spokes of a wheel, so although Mordy looks like he’s stirring, there may be other things she disturbed. After all, the map in Scarlet’s control room showed the Far Shiverpeaks, and not Maguuma/Magus Falls.

3. Anet is fond of “leading us” in one direction and then hitting us from behind. We all could be very far off from the next Season’s plot.

So, in any case, it will be interesting the direction they take with this. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were sitting in the office, reading the speculation threads, and laughing their collective hineys off thinking “Wait til they get a load of this…” (Apologies to the Batman Franchise and the great Jack Nicholson for corrupting his lines…)

I believe the OP is misinterpreting what happened. Nothing broke. The light was just magical energy being dispelled through the ground. Unlike steam or something, it can travel through solid matter without displacing it.

It was just randomer light, not the destructive plasma one might expect from a behemoth arachnid.

I do like the idea of hoards descending upon Tyria though, I’m always in the market for some riches.

I do hope that they actually put the path of the ley line explosion in-game in an upcoming patch, like the dragonbrand (though it looks like it is probably much smaller). Even if it’s just a cosmetic change.
