According to this wiki page, the event Escort the southern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza is supposed to start after Defend the Lone Post from the Risen hordes. I need those obsidian shards and I’m willing to start the Balthazar even chain from as far back as it goes.

But after the event, the next one just doesn’t occur. Is this supposed to happen? Is it random? Do I just wait? Is it bugged?

Very frustrating for those trying to get an uncontested temple.

It does bug out occasionally. Fortunately there are 3 invasions.

I think that wiki page is also missing first few events need to start the event chain. I attempted Balth with a group, and we spent maybe 10~20 minutes trying to figure why we couldn’t get any of the 3 chains to start. We realized that there is an npc you need to talk to in Fort Trinity, who will start an event(s) to destroy a bone ship (bone ship is unforgettable by normal attacks. Once the bone ship is destroyed all three paths can continue/start.

No NPC’s start the event chains. They start at random intervals, all except the North Invasion which is always running. The wiki states that the Central and South invasion start at Fort Trinity, while the North Starts at either Royal Forum or Signal Peak (Depending on how OP the NPC’s are)

This is correct. Like any meta event, you gotta read what the status is to know what you gotta do based on its current location on the event chain. Sometimes you get random visitors to the map who push an invasion foreword without really realizing what it is they are doing.

Succeeding any or more of the Invasion meta events will trigger the events in the Temple of Balthazar chain.
