Unfortunately what I have to say about this is a little harsh but there are more broken events in Orr right now than at launch. Melandru has been broken for about a month now on Dragonbrand and I hear it is on other servers as well. Dwayna has now broken as well, and the chain of escorting The Pact across Malchor’s Leap has been broken for over a week now since the risen respawn so fast over their bodies its like an episode of The Walking Dead (which wouldn’t be a bad thing if you could actually finish the event).
I know a lot of effort goes into living story, but it isn’t a good reflection of how much you care about the game when you let end game areas continue to break without patches to fix them. Imagine how new players feel when they get to Orr lately and find so many events that are not working. Orr may not be what it once was but it shouldn’t be forgotten like this. I apologize for the tone but this seems to have been lost in the cracks somehow.
Since I am on the topic of Orr Straits of Devastation have been a ghost town for far too long. Maybe its time to put the timing of the events back to how they were at launch when we had active event zergs keeping the area alive. With the nerf to karma acquisition the more chains that can be run in a circle the better, it prevents everyone from crowding into the same few zones. Orr was this area we all kept hearing about in GW1 and it was great to actually go there right from the start with GW2 but we could use some more incentive so that being there isn’t one of the worst time/reward ratios in the game.

I know that Dwayna was broken with the living world update (keep the historian healthy during the fight with the priestess or it bugs), and that Anet is looking at it (probably be fixed once the Toxic Alliance buff is removed from vets/champs, if not faster). That’s the case of a global change to content breaking a single event, its just unfortunate which event it is that broke, but I don’t blame ANet for failing to test every single event in the game for the change.

I’ve seen Melandru in a stuck state, but I’ve never seen it become stuck… If you know how it happens, getting that information to ANet may speed a fix.

Event scaling favors fewer larger zergs. I want to see that change, but I’m not sure how… Suggestions for making mid size zergs (15-20 players) yield loot at the same rate as massive zergs (50+ players)? One will get more champs and champ bags, and zergs know this. More places to run in circles doesn’t encourage the zergs to split up.

Orr has not been forgotten. If you’ve been to Orr recently, you may have noticed the DO NOT TOUCH objects that may be signaling Living World content coming in – expect new content to bring masses of players in. Whether that’s in weeks or months…

I am doing my own part in introducing players to some of the amazing content in Orr (includes players begging for merchants, despite frequent access to them) are you doing the same?
