This World Boss has actually one of the harder ones. The pre-event Champion is nothing to sneeze at, and the defense of the Asura Krew is pretty difficult too if you don’t got alot of people. Compared to the pre-events for Maw, Jungle Worm, Shadow Destroyer, Even the Claw and Shatterer, its easily one of the hardest world bosses to trigger. The fight itself is also difficult. Unlike any other world boss, there is an actual time limit you have to meet, and the thing hits pretty hard. Not to mention all the lava.

Yet, inexplicably it is the only world boss that does not give a bonus chest. This is confusing to me. And also explains why almost nobody does Megadestroyer. Its like Anet decided to make the one challenging world boss in the game functionally useless to do.

It is a pretty exciting and good battle. I hope they add a chest for this. I was a bit disappointed when it dropped nothing at all, after literally going through that whole event chain with dozens of players.

Technically, the Golem is the world boss on this map.

But this fight is so awesome and deserving of a daily chest! It was brought up some time ago, shortly after the introduction of daily chests. A dev acknowledged it and said they would look into it (and asked for other events where a daily chest might be warranted).

Sadly, no progress on getting a daily chest for this event. Maybe they looked at it and decided to keep it as is. For such an epic and chained out event, it should warrant a daily chest imho.

I avoid the event right now because the risk/time is not worth the reward.

the pre event chain in cursed shore to open up the path to arah is the same way except you need way more than 3 people, and you have to fight some legendary risen with eternity, for only a chest and no bonus.

Make mega destroyer the chest boss for the map. Golem has one of the worst cases of “press one go afk” syndrome of any of the world bosses. And mega destroyer is actually linked to a dragon, like claw and tq.

Ive never seen this boss, because there is never anyone in the area.. I guess that’s why.

I think they stated once that they just “forgot” to add him to the list what bosses will give a daily bonus chest.. and that they will add him to the list in the future, but that never happened. ^^

Haha, well then this is an extra reminder. Because it really is a good boss fight. I recommend anyone who hasn’t done this event before, to gather some guildies and go through the event chain. But they should add that reward chest.

I have done it long ago, last year. It was nice then.
Now it`s deserted.

Yes, they drop rares with a ridiculously small chance at exotics. For those of us that are tired of running CoF1 until our eyes bleed, this is a decent alternative. Since you don’t have to build a party for meta event bosses, it’s even better for people that prefer to play solo.

the megadestroyer is a champion and he will drop those new champ loot bags, thats pretty good for an easy pre-pre event that takes 1 person and the actual pre that takes at minimum 3 people.
not to mention the boss can easily be 3 manned

For the time and effort this guy takes a champ loot bag just doesnt seem appropriate enough. At least with the boss chest there is also a psychological level of accomplishment when you get a chest that you can only receive once daily and the Megadestroyer deserves that kind of recognition. Without the chest it doesn’t seem worth the effort. If you want champ loot bags run the Ulgoth meta event. From start to finish I can count 6 champs you fight through the course of the event.

Considering the effort that requires to even complete this event chain should definitely give a bonus chest.
