Censorship on words going overboard
There is a workaround you can use for words the forum kittens by accident, use a ’ in the word.
Weapons that are kitten ught
Weapons that are less’ bought
I wouldn’t recommend using it on words that are filtered on purpose of course.
Yeah I’m going to have to jump on this one also. Apparently the words (of) and Kindred can’t be together without the ( ) , but it’s allowed in the signature O.o Riiiiiight.
I just ran into that little problem while trying to make a guild recruiting post. Kept changing my guild name to “Guild okittendred Knights”. I tried the ’ trick, which did not work so I went with ( ) around the word of. Apparently Anet or some creative persons out there have devised a negative word for “(of)kin” minus the ( ). Could someone enlighten me on this if this above term is derogatory in any other language other than English? Danged if I found anything on it anywhere.
Guild of Kindred (Guild Leader)

Try saying F then kin quickly. If that doesn’t work for you, put a vowel sound after the F, preferably a U.
Guild of Kindred Knights. (Shrug) it works for me without any tricks. Maybe the filter was trolling you. ^^

A lot of their censorship makes little sense to me. They have been on a binge lately deleting posts, closing threads, and handing out infractions. However anytime I’ve said anything to this affect so far they have deleted the thread and or post.
they even removed one of my threads and only told me that they deleted a post i had made b/c they deleted the original thread… with out any reason why they deleted my thread…..
honestly, i think their doing whatever they want, and not following/abiding by any sets of rules or standards….. pretty much the same as most american corp’s at the moment. So, their just jumping off the bridge with the rest of them, no care at all about anyone else
you know… thinking about it, i must be hitting a nerve w/ them. why else would they start going this far?
you know other than the fact i keep calling anet and ncsoft on all their bs they keep feeding people

I’m sorry, but that sounds terribly self-important. Imagine, if you will, the following scene:
Colin Johanson approaches Mike O’Brien with a forced smile as they exchange greetings. Mike notices that something’s a bit off.
“Something wrong, Colin?” he asks.
Colin shakes his head, collecting himself. “No, nothing you need to worry about. I’m sure the forum moderators can handle it.”
Mike frowns. “Oh. Is he at it again?”
Colin shrugs. “Well, we did put out another blog post today. I guess we should have seen it coming.”
O’Brien releases a sigh. “How does he do it? How does UserError.7150 always know when we’re bluffing? It’s almost like he has someone on the inside…” The two exchange glances, and each of them begins to study the faces of the developers around them.
Colin recovers at last. “Yeah… I’m sure the mods can keep him down. This time, they’ll get him. I’m sure of it.”
No, I’m pretty sure the culprit is far more simple than an elaborate conspiracy to bring down a select few forum users.
Honestly, I think it’s just a relatively static list of words that are commonly considered vulgar, along with (and here’s the key!) a plethora of abbreviations, misspellings, and probably 1337speak. The biggest part of the problem is that the system doesn’t check to see if the censored “word” is actually an essential part of another (non-vulgar) word before it censors it.
I once posted a link with a URL ending in “5” and “.html.” My best guess is that the filter caught what looked like an attempt to sneak past it with the letters “S,” “i,” “h”, and “t,” probably to be read in the same manner as the word “teh.” The link was censored such that the “5” and the “.ht” were replaced with the word “kitten,” making it end in “kittenml.” The link, of course, wouldn’t work.
TL;DR: They’re not trying to be kittens about it, they just have an extremely indiscreet filter.

Just to let you know, this really isn’t censorship. We know there is an issue. Hey, I come across it myself about daily. For instance, typing the word “Asess” (properly spelled, as in “analyze”) causes me to get kittenized.
The forum team has said that at this point, the problem cannot be addressed. But they are aware of the problem and definitely are tracking it. So you can have confidence that as soon as it can be fixed, it will be!

Personally, I feel the abusers of profanity use are by far more to blame then anything to do with Anet. They are the reason we have to have a filter in the first place.
It is even worse in game. Standing in LA I can see some slip of expressions to make a point, but mostly I see a group of jerks who think they are funny using 10 profanities or racial slurs in one sentence in map chat. When politely asked ( and I do actually mean politely) to curb the language to away from so many profanities, I was immediately told to go do some very profane things with farm animals. Interestingly enough, when you inform them that after the way they rebuffed your polite request you are going to just report them all, then they start either cursing you directly or kissing your tail. Generally kissing your tail. Indicating they are well aware they were braking rules with their harsh behavior.
Those are also the type of people that I blame for filters and any issues that accompany them.

best case I’ve ever seen is when I wrote Kodash, then at, and it counted it as a swear word!
however, I think that’s stopped now
