Here’s a list of bugs for the new forum:

• Cannot reply in topics
• Cannot edit posts

These really need to be resolved because it drastically hinders recruiting new players! People who are interested in your guild cannot even reply, and there’s no way to bump your topic to show that you’re still actively recruiting!

The purpose of this subforum is to make a thread to publicize your guild. As these threads are for recruitment purposes and not for discussion, replies are disabled in this subforum. It is because of this change in how recruitment threads work, we have archived the old Guild subforum in the Archive category at the bottom of the forum.

Working as intended, but this makes it impossible to update our roster, rules, unlocks, etc…. Let alone, allow us to bump our threads to show that we are still active. I am just waiting to see how long it takes before people just start double posting….

Bah reading. Anet’s ruling on the purpose of that forum is a bug. :P

I don’t understand why they felt compelled to change this. I don’t mind splitting the recruiters from the recruits, but there absolutely needs to be threads where people can chat about their guild. They don’t seem to realize that bumping your thread to show that you’re still actively recruiting is important.

I wonder if I can delete/repost topics there. Might have to start doing that.

It seems a bit ridiculous that a recruitment thread gets buried into oblivion with no way to bring it into view. How is someone supposed to sift through the various guilds available? An important tool prior to this was to see which guilds had active threads. There absolutely needs to be a way for guild members and leaders to advertise their guild and separate the active guilds from the one time posters.

This is very sad. A game with the word “Guild” in it’s name, and yet they hamper Guild recruitment efforts. It won’t be long, if it hasn’t happened already, until guilds start double posting. Many active guilds will pushed way back on the list and it will completely defeat the purpose of a guild recruitment thread. This wasn’t well thought through.

Not always reading through update notes too thoroughly – i like surprises (most often…) – i tried to update our old and very casual recruitment thread on here, typed and tried to submit a few times, getting weird error saying that i could not post in the thread…

But on here i got the explanation, and tbh i couldn’t imagine that Anet would come up with something this stupid, very disappointing!

Let’s hope this is as much stupidity as they can come up with for a while now :p

I can not post a Guild recruitment thread on the Guild recruitment forum?

Seriously, i must ofc myself be doing something very wrong here……
