Geno Bishou (Elementist) | Suki The Huntress (Ranger) | Geno The Unknown (Thief)
the HOM Page does not even show up in IE10
I’ve tried it on two other computers, so I know it’s not something wrong with my computer and web browsers.
EDIT:
No one has any suggestions, or help or feedback? I’d really like to check out my Hall of Monuments progress in detail, but I can’t.

There is something wrong with the HoM calc website that may require you to reinstall flash and or java. i did both as I wasn’t sure which of the two the site used. After doing so the page rendered fine.
Tried using Firefox and IE9, updated flash and Java. Still having same issue as Geno.
Sometimes I wonder what I’m doing here…
Open IE10, load http://hom.guildwars2.com and search for your character -> page broken.
Then open the IE developer tools (F12), switch browser mode to IE8, reload the page -> page ok.
Theres something wrong with the latest browser versions, possibly broken by YUI.

Smiley’s suggestion didn’t work for me. HOM calculator still broken on Firefox, Chrome, and IE on all my systems.
Works fine for me in both Firefox 20 and IE10. Tested on 2 separate computers with 2 different character names from 2 separate accounts.
Windows 7 Pro and Windows Server 2008.
Same problems here with Chrome and IE8 (Yes old version at work)
Same problem here.

The hall of monuments reward calculator has been jumbled all day, almost as if some web page coding has been deleted. Could it be fixed please.
Matron Kaldona Kye, Mesmer GW since launch.
Matron Kaldona Kye, Sylvari Chronomancer GW2 since closed Beta.
Still bugged today. Would be nice to check on this.
Just added some things to my HoM and I too am having trouble accessing the calculator. It looks fine on the main page, but when you enter your name to see the rewards it gets all jumbled.
Would appreciate a fix. Thanks!
I am also having problems with HoM calculator. Have tried with different computers and different browsers (IE9, Firefox, Chrome, and Mac Safari) – all with the same result. My screen looks fine on the start page but putting in a character name or going to demo mode causes a badly formatted screen (though it does give the correct total) that looks like the one posted by Zero.8712 a few days back. I’d like to figure out how to get a few more levels with the least effort but can’t get anywhere with the calculator the way it is. Any ideas when this might get fixed?

Windows 7 Pro and Windows Server 2008.
Think I found a common denominator here. Squirrel was able to see the page just fine on Win 7 and Server 2008. Seems like those of us that can’t get the page to display properly are all using Win 8, or at least I am. I can see the page fine on my Win 7 machine, but my Win 8 machine won’t display the page correctly on Firefox, Chrome, or IE.
I am trying it on Vista with Chrome, FFX, and Explorer with no luck. I had hoped this had just become a problem—disappointing to see it’s been at least a month.
Maybe this will help the devs?
Windows 7 Ultimate 32x, IE 10.
If I turn on compatibility view, the screen is exactly as others have posted.
Also, if I use the developers tools in IE 10 and change the browser and document modes, it looks fine in 8, 9, and 10, but also looks corrupted as others have posted under 7. I have also looked at the source code of the page while it was showing as normal, and corrupted, and the source was absolutely identical. If I had to guess, I would say it’s a problem loading the .CSS files.
I am getting this too, but only on Google Chrome.
I get the same thing on firefox, chrome, ie9 and ie10 please address this. I’m running windows 7
Blackgate
For 2 or 3 days now i tried to access the HoM (calculator) page.
What i get is a “The connection was reset” error page.
Win 7, Firefox

Looked into this a bit, I’m not seeing these issues in Firefox/Chrome/IE10.
Since I’m at home I’m running beta versions of Firefox & Chrome though, I’ll take a look tomorrow when I get in & see if I can reproduce this.
Opera’s being wonky is a known thing, it’s not a priority because we get so little Opera traffic.
I am using Windows 7 and Firefox, and my HoM Calculator is all out of whack. It used to work, but probably the last time I looked at it when it did work was before I bought a new computer, so back then I was using Firefox and Vista. I know this has been an issue for some time, because I read a thread (possibly this one) some time ago, and checked the HoM Calculator, and it didn’t work back then.
edit: Just tried it using Chrome, same issues.

Ashley Segovia addressed the problem in this post. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/HoM-Calculator-Website-not-working/first#post1945825

Actually, Opera’s ‘wonkyness’ as you put it is a result of their fastidious adherence to STANDARDS, and it’s a well known way to see if any websites aren’t conforming to those standards .. Anet should learn this lesson, if your site doesn’t render in Opera it’s highly probable it isn’t standards-compliant.
Sadly, flushing dns does nothing.
Make sure you have the latest version of whichever browser you’re using and that you have javascript enabled. Beyond that, your best bet is to try a different browser.

I am also able to duplicate in google Chrome.
Currently it is broken as above in IE10 FF 21.0 and latest Chrome. In fact, it has been broken like this for tha last half a year or so…
I know that GW1 is no longer important for you guys, but leaving it broken like this for so long is a bit excessive.

The HOM page used to work for me, and now it doesn’t. I’ve attached a screenshot and the output of the Javascript console that shows some resources failing to load. If there’s any other digging I can do with the Chrome developer tools that might help, let me know.
I’m using version 20.0.1132.43 m 27.0.1453.93 m (it updated itself when I looked at the About box!) on Windows 7 x64. I have had some weirdness with Google update, so I might be out of step with most folks. I have disabled my ad blocking extension and other tools I use to clean up web pages for all of guildwars2.com, but I universally block third party cookies which might be an issue.

That’s exactly what mine looks like on Firefox, as well as on Chrome.
edit: I had my pop-up windows blocked, once I turned that function off, the page displayed correctly. So, that seems to be the issue, at least for me.
edit2: I had to reload the page a couple of times after the ‘home’ page for the others to work. But, now it works just fine. =)

I’m seeing pretty much the same problem in IE9 and changing my pop-up window setting in chrome doesn’t help. I’m going to try updating Java and see if that helps, because it doesn’t seem to be a problem with a particular browser for me.

Thanks – I allowed them the hard way (Settings->Privacy->Content->Manage exception). I don’t know why I never looked at “view page info”.
It’s working in Chrome now. I had purged my cache and restarted the browser but it seems like I had to leave it overnight and try again. IE 9 is still busted although I disabled the pop-up blocker there too so I’ll have to figure it out. What’s odd is that there is normally an indicator that a pop-up was blocked but it didn’t show for the HOM site.

Same here, a stylesheet throws a 404:

and firebug tells me “TypeError: A.Env._eventstack is null”, line 17 in http://yui.yahooapis.com/combo?3.2.0/build/oop/oop-min.js&3.2.0/build/event-custom/event-custom-min.js&3.2.0/build/attribute/attribute-base-min.js&3.2.0/build/pluginhost/pluginhost-min.js&3.2.0/build/base/base-min.js&3.2.0/build/dom/dom-base-min.js&3.2.0/build/dom/selector-native-min.js&3.2.0/build/dom/selector-css2-min.js&3.2.0/build/node/node-base-min.js&3.2.0/build/event/event-min.js&3.2.0/build/history/history-base-min.js&3.2.0/build/history/history-hash-min.js&3.2.0/build/json/json-min.js&3.2.0/build/cookie/cookie-min.js&gallery-2010.09.22-20-15/build/gallery-preload/gallery-preload-min.js
I’ve fixed this! After many many weeks of trying.
First, Download and enable Java
Second, Change your DNS settings to Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4)
Third, open the command prompt (cmd) and flush your DNS (ipconfig /flushdns)
Lastly, refresh the page cache (shift+f5)

I don’t think that you fixed this, but someone else. Yesterday when i wrote my post it was broken on Chrome (27beta), Firefox (20) and IE10. Today it works on all of them :o
Mine is still broken, unless I turn off pop-up blocker. Still get no messages about it having blocked or no redirection. In Firefox, didn’t check Chrome as I rarely use it.
Ya, we are trying to get one of our guild members unlocks, but are unable to track the progress. IE, Safari, Chrome, adn Firefox all have same issue.
I uninstalled and updated my flash player, enabled Java, disabled my ad and pop-up blockers, flushed my DNS, tried the google DNS and redid these same steps while on the google DNS, flushed the DNS again before hand…
Nothing works. It still loads all messed up. I’m on Firefox 21.
Reporting back after checking the website today.
I didn’t do any of that complicated jazz in my first post. I changed my DNS back to my ISP, I have Java disabled (because it’s a security risk more often then not), all my cookie and pop-up blockers are on…
It works just fine now!
Thank you Anet, for whatever you did to make it work! I really appreciate it as a GW1 player still working on my HoM rewards for GW2!
I also have a bit of practical advice for people who are getting ‘the connection has been reset’ error.
Firefox and many browsers want to encrypt all the websites you go to by adding https:// to every address.
If you mouse over to the ‘Services’ tab on the website above here and click on Hall of Monuments, the URL linked is https://hom.guildwars2.com/
This doesn’t play nice with the HoM. Simply remove the ‘s’ from the URL so it looks like this: http://hom.guildwars2.com/
No more connection reset error. I was able to reach the site before, but it didn’t load right for me until now. So thank you again Anet for the fix! Woo!
So I’ve got this working in both Chrome and IE now. The trick for IE was to turn OFF compatibility mode. I’m not sure anything I did fixed it in Chrome, it just started working after I stopped messing with it.

Ok, i checked again in 4 browsers, Chrome 28beta, Opera beta (webkit, same engine as Chrome), Firefox 21 and IE10 – works fine in all now. Whatever anyone has done… it helped, thanks. Please don’t break it again!
Still broken for me.
This is ridiculous :o
Just chiming in that I am having the same problem today in both IE10 and Chrome. Screen is same as those posted above. Completely unusable and this has been this way FOR MONTHS!
Reporting back,
Yeah. It’s broke again. It loads all messed up like the screens above.
HoM reward calculator is broken for me too, using Chrome and IE.
