It seems that 48 is the page size. When you go back to re-read a topic it takes you to the last post. Unfortunately this isn’t handled well for topics with exactly 48 replies. For some reason it shows no posts at all. I’m guessing it jumps to page 2 (which is empty) but doesn’t think there are enough posts to warrant adding the page tabs so you can’t go back to page 1.
Topics with 47 and 49 replies behave properly being one page or tabbed pages respectively.
It’s not to do with 48 I don’t think, because I have this problem often on the stickied Guild Issues thread, and it has many, many more replies than 48. I do have it happen though, I have to reload it a few times to show anything each time.
Edit: Hmm.. okay, this is a new one on me. I just went to read something that hit 48, and now I cannot, and refreshing isn’t fixing it. So I guess it is 48.. and it is not a Mesmer thread.
The topic that was causing me problems is okay now. Pretty sure the problem is around page boundaries. The post I added to try and get round the issue is the last post on the first page.
I’m guessing there are two bits of code involved. One works out which page to show, and the other which works out whether to show the page navigation features. And that they’re not using quite the same logic!
