I’ve been getting Server Error 502 (“Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.”) over the past few days, at times the forums seem to work, and at times it tries to load the page for a while, then ends up with the error message. Refreshing the page enough times usually gets it working at some point.

I’m not sure if this is happening because of my connection, or if there are issues with the servers, as I’ve not seen anyone else post about this issue yet at least. I’ve had no other indications of internet connection problems, and my ISP is very reliable. If there’s anything I can do to sort this issue though, please let me know.

Edit: Dev tracker seems to be doing this the most.

I had the same mistake just a few minutes ago. The response time to my forum requests was extremely low. I guess it’s a timeout mistake. As I have checked with other websites, it seems that it is not my connection that is at fault. It must be something between my provider and Anet’s website or Anet’s website itself.

PS The time IS still very slow. While posting (and trying to read this) I’ve got the error 2 more times, but the post was made inspite of the error.

Get same error messages a lot of times, and forum is terrible slow either. Whats wrong here?

Me as well. I know it’s not my connection as everything else on the internet works fine for me. The error seems to indicate a problem of communication between the web server and the content server.

(The web server is just the “display” for the content, which is hosted on the “content server”)

Hopefully ANet figures out whatever is causing the communications issues.

It’s been happening with increasing frequency over the past few days. I;ve also been having very high ping in-game so idk if the two are related or not.

Yup, every 2nd click on the forums I get an error 502 message.

I’ve been seeing this error a lot today. I’m pretty sure it’s on their end, as I’ve experienced the error both at home and at work.

I have seen at least a handful of double post that I assume have been caused by the problem.

Well, at least now it seems to be fixed for me. -crosses fingers- No errors so far, and dev tracker is working smooth. I’ll see for sure when it’s peak hour again, I guess.

This is getting really frustrating.

It’s pretty hit or miss. Sometimes the forums come up fine, sometimes they lag horribly, and sometimes you get 502.

Wanting to check on this thread, I had to wait through about 5 minutes of constantly pulling error 502.

Glad this is being looked into because it’s super annoying. Having an active community is important for anything online these days. I can only imagine that this is one of those rare social diseases that only a few members of the community have to suffer through, where as bad game patches everybody has to suffer through.

I hope it won’t belike what happened to gw1 guru few times, that all accounts become compromised. And we’re forced to use real accounts here so it would kinda suck if that’s the case.

Posting and removing the double / triple posts takes a lot of time. It took me a dozen 502s, a triple post, almost 25 minutes to read 10 threads and to do 3 posts.
It isn’t easy currently.

Like previously said, it wasn’t as easy as you might expect. Took me over ten minutes to be able to edit my previous post alone. It’d load and load the editing part, until it’d happily present me with a dialogue box of “There was an error!”.

That said, I’m having zero issues at the moment. It’s 7:15 am here, and it was the same yesterday morning – zero issues in the morning before I head off for work. Evening was bad though, very little chances of being able to open any pages. So, I’m guessing network traffic has a strong part to play in this.

If the server is already slow, people start hammering it with requests by pressing F5, which makes the problem worse.

For me it’s starting just after 15:00 GMT all the time…

Same pretty much as Deimos, I can use the forums just fine AM GMT, come mid-afternoon and the 502s appear; been like this for a few days, pretty bad right at this moment.

Yes, I took about 5 minutes and 3 times 502 for just one reply in another thread.
It’s almost beyond usage: more errors than something to read, browse or post.
I am already copying my answers, in case they get lost because of errors.

19/20 page requests fail with this error. I’ve started using old tactics, opening every link 10 times so maybe one will load.

Same here. The past few days have been really bad. I get about a 10% success rate in actually opening whatever forum page here. I might just skip coming here until the problem gets resolved.

Yeah, it’s really annoying. Maybe I should come back when it’s ready..

Annoying as hell, and made me post a triple post, also tried one hour reloading page to remove them, just sad :/, and something with net-traffic?, cause on the morning for me it worked just fine

No it had been a long time without special glitches for me. I’m on this forum at almost all times (sleeping problems). So I should have seen it, if it had been for a long time. It has been just the last 3 days.

No issues for me now. It was really bad early today, but it looks like (hopefully) this emergency maintenance might have fixed it.

Definitely not smooth…still getting ocasional 502 errors, dates on posts are appearing as 12+ months ago unless you click on them, and about a day and a half of posts have disappeared from the dev tracker
