In terms of profit, should I be opening the Boss Blitz boxes on a lv 80 to get t6 mats and exotics, or on a lower level to get the pricey mid-range mats like linen? Not sure how the math works out.

Never tested mid range tier mats but I did open 369 Boss Blitz chests at level 80:

263 x Gold
68 x Silver
38 x Bronze

Opening the chests gave me 34 rares (salvaged to ecto)
5 Exo (sold at 22g 18s – one was a Str rune)

3402 x Champion bags

Made 69g coin from champ bags/selling minor and major runes from salvaging. (2s02c per bag)
Total of 12 exo’s (sold at 28g 61s)
Total of 116 rares (salvaged to ecto – With master kit)
Roughly 26.5k tokens used on 88 T6 mats (264 T6 mats) (sold at roughly 120g)
Salvaged all blue and green items with copper salvage gem store bot (total 116k luck)

Attachment below is all the mats and luck I got. Only some of the gauntlet tickets are shown as used quite a few so far. The total T6 mats does not include the 88 mat bags I stated above.

I open pretty much every account bound container on a lvl 55 character. For the boss Blitz chests in particular I don’t know if it is ideal. Opening champ bags at 55 has a lot of pros (can still get lvl 80 exotics and T6 mats, everything is worth salvaging so I get more luck) and one con (rares don’t salvage into ectos).

I haven’t opened enough bb chests to know if they work the same as the champ bags, ie still have a chance at lvl80 exo. Earlier in the event I noticed opening them on lower level characters would give low level bags, but at some point I forgot and got exotic bags on a <30 lvl char. So maybe they changed that. Lvl 55 gave exotic bags either way at least.

Even if you open in low level character, you will still get all the t6 mats, and all the lv 80 exotics.

The only thing that change is the equipment (Blue-Green-Yellow). Those will come bound to your level.

I opened a lot in my lv-40 thief to grab some linem. But in end, you’ll be losing all the lv80 rares (That you can salvage, and get ectos).

I gave up on opening on low-lv. But if you need the mats, its a good way.

I’m not sure the rares from boxes will be able to garner a greater return than linen.

My main concern is if opening on a lower lvl character means no chances at an ascended box or a precursor. Yeah, the % are low to begin with, but still :|

It seems you also get considerably less silver from opening the champ bags on lowbies.
