The fixes are okay, still not up to what GW2 used to stand for. Still when donating that gold remember this from their update page on the website:

“Remember that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 1 gold for about 15 gems and 50 gold for about 655 gems!”

That makes no sense. How is that related?
Or is your theory that we have to donate money because they want us to buy gems to trigger the event with?

In that case, I have three questions:

• Why not just make the event cost gems? Much more direct, much more controllable, cannot be “cheesed” by players having any sensible amount of ingame cash (starting the event instantly is ~13,50s or so per player).
• If this is the case, are waypoint costs the same and just meant to make people buy gems?
• Why can we earn significant amounts of gold ingame? If the idea is to make money cost drive up the demand for gems, it makes no sense to “flood” us with gold the way it is been done ever since champion rewards were first added. In fact, we got so much cash that we’re converting it into gems so much that the per-gold-gem-return is at a serious low.

There’s a lot of really weird tinfoilhat theories about how and why we’re being “coerced” to buy gems, but I doubt simply money expenditure has ever been one of them. While the gem-price is so tilted that it might be tempting to buy gold for gems, it is only that way because we can earn so much gold so easily ingame that we drove the price down via raw inflation.
(It’s also why the for-gem-exchange is the primary means of controlling inflation, as we self-control it: as we get more gold, we are more and more likely to exchange it, driving up price, requiring more gold to be exchanged and hence removing more gold from the economy per exchange.)

Out of all the festival content, I like the gauntlet the best. But I won’t be playing it a lot anymore.

See, I’m out of gauntlet tickets. It seems I’ll have to either buy them at the exorbitant price of 20s plus 35 festival tokens per 5, or spend hours in the pavilion getting an occasional bronze reward. I just can’t seem to get into a pavilion that has more than 2 or 3 players who actually want to do boss blitz. Taxis only ever try to take me into full instances, no matter how long I keep trying.

I’m not going to buy those tickets, they’re SO not worth the price. I’m also not going to spend many excruciatingly boring hours playing musical chairs with servers, to end up with enough tickets to last me just a couple of minutes.

I thought this game wasn’t supposed to “make you spend hours preparing to have fun rather than just having fun.” It actually does.

Or you know, join any number of teh temporary guilds for gold pavs, and do 2-3 runs..
I cureently have 3 stacks of these kitten tickets, and have been destroying the rest. you get soooo many from gold runs, that are litreally 5 mins long.
