Guild Wars 2

I’m not what anyone would consider a Fanboi, but the Festival of the Four Winds, might qualify me as one, at least temporarily. I can’t think of one complaint, critique of any merit to make. All I can say is thank you, and well done. I will truly miss the festival. The atmosphere, the people, the silliness, and so much more.

To all those involved in creating such a wonderful and inviting place, Thank you. This was the kind of Festival that made GW1, so beloved. Please make more. I’m looking forward to the Dragon Festival now.

I couldn’t agree more. The Festival of the Four Winds is everything I love about Guild Wars 2, while having a charm that is uniquely its own.

I love the map. I love the crazy haphazard bamboo architecture clinging improbably to the soaring cliffs. I love to see waterwheels and boxy little houses piled on top of each other. I love the climbing. I love the jumping. I love the ZOOM. I love catching a peek at a crystal glimmering on a distant ledge and wondering how I’ll get there. I love the colourful awnings. I love the lanterns and the little paper boats. I love to see the sky full of billowing sails. I love the surprise. I love the whimsy. I’m sad to see this place go, because there’s nothing else like it, but at the same time it reminds me why I love this game so much.

The moment Guild Wars 2 truly won a place in my heart was the first time I found a vast sprawling cavern complex full of ruins, beauty, bosses, rewards and a jumping puzzle simply by following an idle whim to follow a stream back to its source. When that tiny cave mouth opened into a whole world I hadn’t even guessed at, I knew I had found a game that understood the joys of exploration. The first time I explored the Labyrinthine cliffs, many months ago, I had that same feeling. I still do. After two festivals, many hours and tons of falling damage, I am still discovering new things about this place. I hope I have the opportunity to discover many more. So thank-you. Thank-you for the festival.

Just wanted to add my voice to this. I missed the Bazaar the first time but have loved exploring Labyrinthine Cliffs this festival. I’ve particularly enjoyed the sky crystal hunt and being able to pick up some skins i thought i’d never be able to get after missing them the first time.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes with S2 and future festivals, particularly new zones to explore and new events.

All I can say is thanks for all the hard work, it is appreciated, even if from time to time I’ll pick up on something that bugs me, those things are few and far between among the many things that I love about the GW universe.
