Alright, I’ve said it once and now that it has returned I’ll say it again. I understand the Crown Pavilion is a good ol’ time for heroes, adventures and a few lucky merchants. The truth of the matter however is the fact that this was the home to many artists, craftsmen and some of the finest the human population had to offer in the ways of creativity. Many were promised their homes rebuilt as they lived on the side streets, panhandling and trying to sell the goods they salvaged. As a noble elementalist, even I can’t stomach every time I hear how graciously the Queen has reopened 1/4th of the city for celebration, as if she was making some great sacrifice built on the backs of the property she seized, to commend her what… 10 years of being Queen? I wonder what she’ll get on her 20th anniversary, or is that why we’re rebuilding Lion’s Arch. So she has a summer house by the beach?

Being a refugee is never a good time, but in this world it is considerably worse. From the Highlands to the frozen reaches of the Far North, since the Molten Alliance and the monster of the Deeps have pushed people from their homes into the concentrated heap of tents and broken dreams called the human lands, should we really be celebrating? Every small step forward seems to warrant a royal party, yet in truth the lands are being lost and culture shrinking with each step back.

I commend the fact that funds are being drawn to rebuild the lives of some, but deep pockets are still taking their cut. Ask Gnashblade how he’s doing lately, or what exactly the Zephyrites are buying up.

Distractions, loads of distractions while the homeless are forgotten and the ruins are washed away.

I don’t know, I understand it’s just a game and I’m having a little fun playing the counter advocate here, but where is Riot Alice when you need her. Then again, another scarlet haired opposition might just bring a shudder to the shoulders of many.

However, all in all, I think both the Queen and the Shining Blade still have some explaining to do. Both of the collapse and the secrets inside. It’s quite the plot “hole.”
