Small Guild Alliances
As a small guild owner and dedicated player trying his best to keep his members interested in the game…I fully support this idea.
My guild is made up of mostly friends and friends of friends, who’s only desire is to play with people they know in a small/tight group. Sadly we have noticed that we are slowly the very surely running out of content to do, and a lot of them are going inactive. When I heard about the ideas of guild missions, I pretty much spammed all of them the good news, to which they were very excited to participate in and overall come back to the game. We were all ready tonight to play the hell out of this new feature, only to learn that it is currently (and will be for some time) a complete impossibility….
I’m very disappointing, my guild is very discouraged with the game in general, and most of all I feel like we were misinformed…
We have no desire to become an affiliate to some blob mega guild and would rather play with like minded people who share the same, small but effective, model we have.
Would really love to see this idea be put into motion.

I run SnWo on Sorrow’s Furnace. I’d be happy to align with you.
Major bumpage.
Just to see if there is progress on the EU side for plans like this.
I am part of a Guild on TC and think that having an alliance is a wonderful idea. Feel free to contact me either on the forums or in game if you are also a small guild in TC and want to experience the new Guild content.

I’ve created the hub guild for the US Alliance MSGA. Currently only 2 other guilds have joined it(which is as expected as I just made it). So anyone who wishes to join said alliance and get their members to do so as well either contact me or Edusd(as he’s now an Alliance Leader who can invite).
I just would liek to inform everyone that the only point to a multi server alliance is if u guesting on a server then u will have ppl u can run with thats not strangers. So basically if the core guild is gaining influence thats on a different server than you then you wont be able to benefit from any of the perks that the core guild gets with influence even if you area guesting. This has been stated by the Anet staff so in order for a core guild to work properly u need to spend equal ammount of influence on each server. so if the core guild gets the guild missions you wont be able to benefit from them unless your guild changes servers to the same as the core guild.
This is a great idea.
So for Europe – I’m on Gunnar’s Hold, and I’ve just snagged the name ‘Small Guild Union [SGU]’ to act as a hub for small guilds locally. I’m leader of a small 6-person ‘friends and family’ guild myself, with no desire to be in a mega-guild but would like to have access to guild missions, and the possibilities for easier group finding an alliance would offer. Would be nice to meet some new people too
I’d agree with this acting as a second guild for all members, with no requirement to represent except when actually doing Guild Missions.
Guild Leaders of member guilds would be given co-leader status – I don’t feel any need to ‘own’ this myself and could really do with the help. We’d be starting from scratch so anyone happy to ‘donate’ representation for a week or two to get things going would be appreciated but not required.
Main aim for [SGU] is to gain access for all members to Guild Missions and rewards, and act as an alliance roster.
PM me here or in game if you or your guild are interested and are on Gunnar’s Hold or other EU server

I reallly like this idea, but i don’t see any Europian guilds in this discussion, I’m on a europian server, so if any europian guilds are here and up for it tell me!!
This idea you guys came up with is good. Very good. Well done.
However, you guys are on the American servers.
Is there a Hub Guild forming for the EU server?
Works as stated above. Representing the Hub Guild a few times a week will not be a problem, and using it as a conduit for guild missions planning as well as whatever else is perfect.
I didn’t saw your message, scrolled too fast:p, i’m on a europian server(ruims of surmia) , I’m also really interested in this idea, so, when i’m on again i’ll add you and can we then talk about?
Hey, talk to me in game. Groshlin on Borlis Pass or whatever my username thingy is over to the left. Our guild is also trying to build alliances, and we should meet and discuss options.
Cheers
Groshlin

On Gandara here, which brings me to a new question. I read on a post somewhere around here recently, that a guy guested to a server his guild was on as he joined a different server, but did not get rewards for the guild mission, a possibility being he is not originally from the server his guild is on, anyone else had this issue?

While this is true, I didn’t create the guild to act as one guild everyone represents to do things. I created the guild MSGA for the sole purpose of acting as a roster for all the guilds involved so we can know an idea of how many people are available to help each other out with missions or dungeons, etc. I don’t want people to join MSGA and represent. Hell the only reason to even represent would be for the guild leaders to have discussions.
Guesting to other servers gives you influence for the home server.
I’ve been reading over this post and it is exactly what I’ve been wanting to be a part of with my guild. I will have a chat with my guild leaders tomorrow about the possibility of joining this alliance. We’re a pretty small guild made up of friends so we only have about 5-10 actives during our peak hours. I’ll contact you in game via mail or whisper if you’re on, Ash Folio. I really want this to happen We’re mainly based in Northern Shiverpeaks but we have a few friends in BlackGate due to some weird stuff that happened.
Yep…
My guild is personally in Sorrow’s Furnace, but so far every guild in the alliance is from a different server. But if we guest, whatever gets done; gives influence to each guilds home server.
I personally do not understand why Anet even implemented this idiotic system of allowing players to join up to five different guilds and only represent one at a time, read guild chat by whichever they currently represent and grant all influence based on whatever it is they are selfishly accomplishing to that guild as well.
It’s like, I have friends in other guilds but I don’t represent their guild to go quest or pvp with them. That is just plain dumb. They had a perfectly proper system for alliances within Guildwars that I had hoped to see here. It allowed guilds to alliance with up to 10 guilds and offered a separate alliance chat channel designated for all guilds within that alliance to communicate.
This to me makes a lot more sense to have rather than almost forcing smaller guilds to take on other guilds or larger guilds to take on smaller guild members in order for them to accomplish content. I am not completely opposed to the alliance system. However, even with it being well built into the system on Guildwars is was at times challenging to find guilds that properly modeled your own.
I don’t want to have to police members of other guilds because their complete and total clowns and act a fool just to achieve some goals around guild challenges. And to be honest, its called a “GUILD CHALLENGE”. We should not be forced to alliance at all with other guilds to get any of this done. Nor should we be expected at all to have members representing other guilds to accomplish these tasks. Bad system is Bad.
That’s just my two cents.
Best,
Vancien
