Mad King's Tower Breaks The Game's 1st Rule
I got across to parts where no other people were there with me – as an asura. I never got to the top as the small critter, but only because i’m not used to jumping as them, not because other people ‘blocked my view’.
Done it all on the shortest human female, had 3 big charrs and 2 norns in my group – again, no problem.
Dye yourself pink – the more standing out, the better.
The ONLY problem with the tower is that people with passive speed buffs from traits have it much easier – and the banners being omitted, probably by mistake. Some people have it much easier with their 25% faster running as thieves or nigh perma swiftness on warriors.
And that’s it, really.
And about the chest…
You get a soulbound-on-acquire, non-salvageable exotic with so-so stats. Nothing to whine over.
but you hate the model not the class so there is a new twist on an old tale :P
Honestly I don’t mind it, the event is all in good fun and it is funny to watch all this huge norns break down into madness over falling down so much.
Thieves do not get speed boosts. The game locks your skills which disables signet passives.
Traits still work
I don’t have as much of a problem with the huge people, except for the few teams of them roaming the overflows causing problems on purpose. But, warriors can actually slip banners in, and suddenly speed up people mid-jump, causing failure, and that’s just not cool.
The Clocktower takes a basic part of the A-net design philosophy, and spits all over it, and it needs fixed.

Get yourself a banner – the warrior spawning the banner can’t pick it up until the summoning animation is over, so just swoop it yourself.
Solution far from perfect, but then if everyone had a banner, there would be no problems and everyone would have it much easier – inbefore ANet fixes the issue.
I think I need to level my level 18 elementalist to level 20 a bit. If traits work the attunement air trait that gives you 25 buff if you stay in air will work?
Yup.
Don’t get me wrong – i’m hoping ANet removes ALL the speed boosts, both from traits and the banners when at the tower, but in the meanwhile… use them instead of whining about them. Cope with the design or move on.
They need to fix Hounds of Balthazaar, Ranger spirits, and other clutter-spawning skills that can drag in extra mobs to obscure platforms too. Warriors are just my favorite example of how to grief people in the clocktower.

I believe I was in first wave of players who completed the puzzle. Asura Ele. Had no issues with other players whatsoever, raced with some Charr guy and it was exciting.
That is cool. They should not remove it then. Otherwise people will have completed the achievement easier and there might be a few who could not have completed it without that advantage. They would have an advantage over others then because they should not have gotten the achievement and others that are the same will not be able to get it if they remove the buffs from traits.
Should stay like it is and everyone is free to try to level a char to get the trait buffs too or for that banners? .. they could just ask a friendly warrior to help.
I already done it with my asura and norn character.
Sure it’s harder to do it with an asura but it’s do able, also it’s getting easier toward the top because most people probably already fall before you therefore less people block your view lol.
I already did it with my human character. That doesn’t mean it’s not broken, and that I can’t destroy it for other people for the fun of it.

This puzzle needs reworking… fail design
Just make sure you are in pole position, and you’ll quickly see those Charr and Norn drop like flies behind you. Yes they block the view, so get past them fast.
