It seems that the Mad Memoirs back item cannot hold a gem, or at least not an exotic one. Since it has the exact set of stats I was looking for, I was hoping to upgrade it with an exotic level Coral jewel, but it wouldn’t accept it. I was wondering if this was intentional or a bug. Also wondering if anyone else has tried upgrading it.
You can only upgrade it with gems that don’t have a required level.
You can transmute it with another back item that already has the gem you want. You will just lose the flavor text in the tooltip description.
