They both have the same cooldown and duration and they’re both cool summoning skills. But wich one is the best in terms of reliability and damage?

I’ve tested that the Mistfire Wolf can easily solo mobs 5 levels above it with no help (i’m level 60 now, and so the wolf) and has access to a short range aoe skill that he uses very often, but I don’t have the Hounds yet to test them myself.

I’ve seen Mistfire Wolves sitting around in towns but never actually in a fight, so I can’t vouch for or against them, but the Hounds have this pounce attack where they use it in unison causing PRETTY CRAZY AoE damage in a pretty wide range. Their basic attacks do nice damage too.

After they use their pounce attack together, they use it on their own accord so they might not do it at the same time anymore, but it’s still useful. I’m not sure what the recharge is on their pounce.

I say that Hounds of Balthazar are stronger, because the Mistfire Wolf AoE skill miss very much if you have to run around.

the wolf also has a stun charge.

i think eventually you can get most or all of the skills anyway, just which one is first is all.

I have them both. I like to use the Mistfire Wolf for single targets and the hounds for 3+ mobs to do damage and to keep them off me (I play an elementalist). Both skills are great IMO. Both do good damage too. Use whichever one you like better

Hounds are pretty awesome for solo’ers. Saving up points for them on 3 toons right now.
