I just made a human female necromancer gave her super pale skin flaming red hair and green eyes. I was thinking whats the most fitting name for a female necromancer. i named her Mhorghain le faye =) Mhorghain is another spelling for morgana or morgane so i went the arthurian legend route for my name.

10/10 I really like the le faye at the end and Mhorghain is an original spelling, but a classic name

Because of name reservations, my female human warrior is named “Riven The Valorous”, but as soon as we have name changes available, I managed to get “Riven The Exile” when GW1 names were released. Not the most original idea, but my character is a dead ringer for League’s Riven and I use a Fellblade :P

7.5/10 – “Riven” is pretty good, though I wonder where she’s exiled from and where. Logan looks to an outcast for help?

Jet Ormaire – Human Elementalist; specialist in fiery techniques, hates swimming.

7/10 Last name is hard to pronounce and reminds me of a horse (Mare). Actually… 8/10 Jet is appropriate for the fact that ele’s always have swiftness up.

me? I’m Quiznos, a street rat human who lost his sister and went on to become a guardian. I like to think he’s been raised by wolves and had some pet spongmonkies. It’s who I’ve always been since imperial conflict, my first online game

7/10, I like it, although it doesn’t roll off of the tongue that well to me.

Kaila Mistblade, stealth-heavy Thief, born and raised in the scummiest streets in the corners of Divinity’s Reach. She never found who her parents were or what her real name was, so she named herself. She liked Kaila after first hearing it, and gave herself Mistblade as a namesake and/or representation of herself. The streets gave her immense combat finesse, shown through her sword/dagger duelist fighting style and ability to vanish in and out of direct confrontation at a moment’s notice.

Also added a picture. She had her hair bunched up for a long time as she grew accustomed to keeping it out of the way when scavenging and getting out of scuffles, but let it down as she moved on from her old life.

8/10 only because I don’t get last names that seem to do with profession rather than simple family heritage. They seem self-entitled, not that there is anything wrong with that, but they are easier to come up with.

My female necromancer’s name is Zen Verani

5/10 because although I am not familiar with the name at all (probably holds meaning for the owner, but it doesn’t conjure enough visuals for me to place a backstory from my perspective)

My female mesmer is Mockingbird.

(Mockingbirds = They are best known for the habit of some species mimicking the songs of other birds and the sounds of insects and amphibians, often loudly and in rapid succession. )

Mockingbird 8/10 – A fitting name for a mesmer, although seems like more of a moniker/nickname than an actual name. I like it though.

Caim Dragonguard – A former prince of a very small nation who’s parents were slain when he was a boy by Zhaitan the elder dragon. His country was left in ruins, and he was given refuge by allies of his parents in Divinity’s Reach. When he came of age he discarded his title, inheritance, and privilege’s as a nobleman and became a warrior. He set out to join the Vigil and fight the Dragon’s, caring little about his own life.

Note: This character is basically a tribute to the character of the same name, although I felt it translated nicely into the lore of GW2.

Caim Dragonguard – It’s a very cool name. I really like the name Caim and its alternative spellings (Kaim) because it reminds me of Lost Odyssey, which was a fantastic RPG. That said, I’m going to have to take some points away for lack of originality. Don’t get me wrong, I commend the way you’ve taken a character from another game and tried to make it work in this one, but for me, it means your character isn’t 100% your creation.

As for my human, I’ve recently created a Female Human called Victoria Hawthorne.

A member of the Divinity’s Reach nobility, she has always used her wealth and influence to help those less fortunate than her.

After her sister was lost whilst fighting for The Seraph, she thrust herself into combat training, realising that more soldiers were needed to defend Kryta’s inhabitants.

Although she was a very capable solider, specialising in Sword and Shield combat, she was never anything more than that.

What set Victoria Hawthorne apart was her furious drive to help people. One night a Charr warband fighting for The Vigil turned up at the gates of Divinity’s Reach, their numbers diminished after they were ambushed.

Such is the history between Humans and Charr that nobody would help them, except for Victoria Hawthorne. It was then that she realised that her desire to help and heal extended beyond Kryta. She needed to save the whole of Tyria and everything living inhabitant of it.

She prayed to the once mortal God, Kormir, for the power she needed to help protect and heal, and Kormir did bless her with Blue Magic, and she became a Guardian.

Mine is a human thief named Entact because no matter how sticky or tough a situation is he always comes out intact.

No last name because she was raised as a common folk, with a “dead” sister (semi-spoiler). Combination of Sigmun and Mina, with different meanings in different languages.

Human Ranger Female: Mira Luster
A noble with no parents. Her looks surpasses all others (spent a lot of time making her look nice and chic). Play on words, mirror, and the luster that shines off of it, a direct reference to her looks.

Kieran Whelan.

I chose an Irish / Gaelic origin first named, with an Irish last name for my human ranger in an attempt to keep with the Lore of Guild Wars. A direct translation of Kieran means “Little Dark One” , and Whelan means “Young Wolf”.

He grew up as a street rat within the city walls of Queensdale, and ran with a pack of thugs. One day, he was able to escape into the wilderness to become a lone wolf that will one day answer his calling to become a Hero of Tyria.

Just realised I should explain that Bam is scottish slang for nutcase.

I find the above names pretty difficult to pronounce and feel my scores would vary wildly depending how I say them and how the owner wants them to be pronounced. I’ll rate them on how they look in text however with an umbrella score of 7.5/10. They all look very pretty, although some of them look more elven/sylvari than human.

Introducing my female elementalist, Vittoria Secret, or just Vi to her street rat friends.

Vittoria grew up on the streets of Divinity’s Reach and has always done what is necessary to survive.

She is notorious for charming her way out of tricky situations. She has stolen, blackmailed, and dabbled in prostitution growing up, in order to survive in the dark underbelly of the Humans last city. But, far from feeling sorry for herself, she holds her head up high, such is her inner strength. Despite her immoral past, she is rather proud of surviving where others could not.

Despite being a seductress and stopping at no lengths in order to survive, Vittoria, at heart, is compassionate, caring and will help her allies if she can. Although this reveals another facet of her personality – you are either with her, or against her.

In her late teens, she started to develop the ability to manipulate the elements. Because she never had a education, she is a completely self-taught sorceress.

Needless to say, upon mastering her gifts, her stature in the underworld grew and grew.

Despite her aforementioned lack of education, Vittoria has an insatiable thirst for knowledge, that, whilst living in the streets, manifested itself in the form of secrets and information with which she could use to manipulate those around her.

For this reason, she almost accepted an invitation to the Durmand Priory, who promised her knowledge. It was to the Order of Whispers, however, that her allegiances finally fell.

She has since forged a reputation in the order for being sneakier than a Thief. She could be your waitress, she could be your escort for the night, she could be your cleaner…a master of disguise, she will find out what she needs to know about you, or what you know about somebody else.

Despite, however, her rather illusive character, one should not underestimate the raw power of her elemental magic – for she is not afraid to use brute strength when it is required.

Presenting: Kurtz Bathory- noble engineer.
I chose Kurtz cause it was my great grandfather’s name.
Bathory-(I forgot the accent on the a) this was the last name of a noble family in RL that was part of the Kingdom of Hungary. The most infamous member was Elizabeth Bathory, who was charged with the murder of 650 girls.

To pronounce the name: Kurtz ( how it sounds) Bathory (bath + rey )

I’ll give it a 7. Sounds very human, was thought out, and has meaning to you. I know you were probably just stating a random interesting fact but the murder of 650 girls bit kind of lessened the score :p

My main human toon is Luciendar Elorien – Ranger

I’m a sword collector and Luciendar is taken from the name of one of Kit Rae’s swords of the same name, Luciendar (Sword of Light).

Surname was going to be Elexorien – another name of a Kit Rae sword but didn’t care for the ‘x’ and Elorien rolled off the tongue better. So idea was inspired/taken from that.

Nice name: Luciendar Elorien – i give it a 9/10. Its not a 10 cause the name sounds more elven as human smile But definately has a good sounding.

My Mainchar is a male human elementalist called Luac Agwayen.
I made this name up as i started playing GW1, so its already a long existing name, also a good thing is that i made this one up on my own and can use it pretty much in every game as nobody has taken it at all. At first i wanted to call my char Luke as im a huge Star Wars Fan, but it was an often exisiting name, so i played around and came up with Luac.
My second human char is a male Guardian called Lathandor Agwayol.
They are cousins thats why the names are somewhat related. Lathandor is a made up version of the name Lathander, a sunrise god of the forgotten realms (a P&P RPG).

I’m gonna give your name an 8. I like your firstname, but your lastname sounds more ‘elvish’ to me. I’d give that name to Legolas or someone similiar :p

My character is a noble and honorable warrior who always puts someone else’s safety up front. Tall and muscular with very short hair. I created his character with Boromir from LotR in the back of my mind :p

^Jarvis is a cool name (mostly because I think that was the name of Tony Stark’s awesome computer in Iron Man,) Eterna kinda funked me out at first, but I suppose it’s unique and fits rather well in Tyria. The Boromir reference kinda tipped the scales in your favor because he’s awesome. So, without further ado, I give your name a 9/10.

My personal preference is usually in line with lore, but with the explanation you gave I have to say that I appreciate your choice. If you could somehow work into Lion’s story that he spent a good deal of time among the Kodan it would make all the difference in the world. 7.5/10

My first character, a male engineer, goes by the name Caedmon Durandal. Caedmon means “Wise warrior,” and Durandal has a mixed background. Originally, Durandal is the name given to a legendary sword in French history. Additionally, Durandal is the name of a group of researchers and strategists for whom the main character works in Front Mission 4 (no comment on the game itself, just liked the idea of the group).

Caedmon seemed appropriate for the character because the character is selective of his battles and seeks to find the way to turn any fight in his favor. He has joined the Vigil, which is unusual for an engineer, but their goal lines up well with his persona. I chose Durandal because I envisioned one of his ancestors inventing a rifle which bore the family name.

9/10 I love names with a meaning. Durandal is also the name of an experimental French fighter jet from the 1950’s and the name of an airfield destroyer bomb.

Mako Scarlet I’ll give a solid 7.5. There’s a few different ways I can think of to pronounce “Mako” (especially in a fantasy setting) and it flows well with her surname. “Scarlet” sounds more like a first name to me but it still works.

The name belongs to person coming from a long lineage of talented yet eccentric magicians. While not a noble family, in the past they often were in service of various noble houses of Divinity’s Reach (commoner).
When it comes to character traits, Ainsley is no different to his ancestors. He wears outlandish, brightly coloured robes with strange ornaments, covering his skinny and overall unimpressive posture. His brown hair is cut short and kept disheveled by special paste he developed himself (after series of unsuccessful attempts and fallen off hair) and sports a thin mustache and goatee.
As an elementalist, he has no elemental attunement of choice. In combat, he frequently jumps from element to element, which makes him an unpredictable and highly dangerous opponent, both to his enemy, as well as himself.

The first impression that I got, was thinking that this must be a female character, but it wasn’t.

I’ve to insert a nub moment for myself here, when I made my character, I thought that you could only write the name with one word as with all the other MMO’s in the market.

Nathiella is the name as an Guardian.
