One thing this encounter screams the need for: solo target calling. Not sure I could have done it without target calling given the way the game likes to deselect your target sometimes.

Finish her after about 40 tickets in, Guardian, 0/10/30/30/0, using only staff with shouts, Shelter and Renew Focus.

Most beautiful mechanics ever!

GW2 got us used to awesome mechanics like punchbag bosses who one-shot you with an attack before, but a fight where everything can one-shot you? Wow, amazing, who would have thought it’s possible to come up with such a revolutionary concept?

Oh and nice touch with putting everything on the laggiest map you can find, “for the feeling”. Everyone knows that instance crap is overrated anyway and every MMORPG player prefers to lag rather than play fluently. Adds to the challenge right? Very intelligent design.

Congratulations ANet, you really did change the MMORPG world like you promised!

wasted 200+ tickets on her, till i found a build to beat her (tried on all 8 chars) in the end , it was a mesmer, using 2 skills and running in circles… genious.

Can she be Moaed while having her shield up? Kinda like taking a necro outa Lich form? I imagine not but if so I might be able to beat this even when dealing with an extra enemy or left over tornados or fire rings from previous fights which seems to be the common occurrence when I try.

She can but then she rushes you in phase 1, immune, chasing you…. not a good situation.

I dont know, after meleeing her with my guardian, I had a blast :p

I cannot beat her on my guardian I played 2750+ hours on. Do not have any twinks to test on. Makes me sad if my mini collection wont be complete anymore because of this.

GS+Hammer, full glass build. Once she shifts, have your GS ready (need some practice) to “collect” shades, pull them away from her, swap to hammer – use 5; dps. Repeat 2-3 times and its done. Also, I did it without Hammer 5 skill “secure”, which gave me a lot more dps having GS all the time. She is squishy and her prime is when people run around and kite. Which as a guardian, you can simply ignore. Shelter to block AoE with GS blind+aegis for second try, or simply use FR elite for another invulnerability.

Scepter builds running around are just disgrace.

Anet can stick the Mini Liadri where the sun doesn’t shine, The Living story installment sux, The Laggiest instanced area in all gw2 sux, The wp costs and repair costs are a joke, And Anet wants us to buy a 300gem item from the Gem Store just access a lame area with bank and other NPC’s that are free to access in open world.

Thank god all you get for beating her is a mini and some chievo points. They could have done something stupid like stick a cool weapon skin behind it.

Do you really think that 100% of players should have access to every single weapon/armor skin in the game? One of the major complaints people have about GW2 is that the most significant rewards (armor and weapons) don’t show off player accomplishments – partially because there are so few legit challenges to be overcome in GW2, and partially because none of those challenges offer unique rewards that might actually separate some players from the pack.

Finally defeated her with a symbol build I came up with my Guardian. Feels good.

As a guardian, try stack power to boost up retaliation.
Pick all retalation traits, weapons and stuff like that.

I used Greatsword and Scepter / Shield.
Stand your ground, Signed of Jugment and Retreat for extra aegis + speed.
