Scavenger Quest/Map Fragment - What now?
I would like to know this as well. I made a post about it not too long ago and it got flooded down to now page 3 …hopefully yours will be seen.

I read somewhere that phase was was extended to the end of today because of bugs, so any use would start tomorrow
You go to Hanto trading post in Caledon Forest, talk to Noll which will start an event. After you defeat him and the guards you talk to him again and you will get a letter in the mail. After that you go to Garenhoff in the south east of Kessex near the wizard’s tower. Talk to Canach and defeat him then head back to Ellen Kiel in LA who will give you a jug of karam. The End.
Noll takes 5 minutes to reset so you might have to stand around for a while until he resets. Canach seems to have a shorter timer but I don’t know what it is. You don’t have to be the person to start either event but you do need to deal some damage to them to count as participating in the event.

Yeah we’ve done all that and got the map fragment, phase one is COMPLETED on our end, it’s what comes with the map fragment now that is making me wonder now we are on phase 3, nothing was used in phase 2 of it.
This is really disappointing. REALLY, disappointing.
Last I heard was a red said to hold on to them. I have been wondering also. So I’m holding on to them. Just not sure what to look for or how I will know when I should turn them in.

The chain involving the Map Fragment was extended into Phase 2 which is now over.
Additionally, the chain which occurs after you have received a Map of Southsun Cove was not extended:

Well it looks like the only reward was 5 of those event tokens for the gathering tools which isn’t much of a reward. Guess I wont be too sad that I couldn’t complete it.

Throw them away. they stated that part two they couldn’t extend it so it’s over.
They couldn’t extend the event for people who couldn’t complete it. I completed it, got all 3 items but no idea what to do with them now…

Bump. This is one of many threads asking this. We completed the quest phase (got the jug of karma) but now have 2 map fragments and a soggy bag. I had hope that they were going to turn out to be needed for an additional step (mad king book). Do we trash these or what Anet??? Would be nice if you answered on one of the at least 4 threads on this subject!
