So many Players helping players: thank you!
It was a great attempt by the community to salvage a failure by Anet. Instead of putting in an event spawning STOP function instead they just boot everyone in progress. After all day of boots and overflow bugs I’m left with a sour taste and no desire, or anything to show for my efforts.
You’re most welcome! I’m sad about the ‘maintenance’ and those who couldn’t make it.
Exactly my feelings, great content but extremely poorly executed and there we were all of us rezzing one another, taking on this amazing boss and suddenly Troll stamped but a new build. What a JOKE.
Exactly, thanks to the community I manged to complete the event. (Got disconnected @ chest the first time )
I invited alot of people on to the next one but sadly.. “Lost shores” had come to an end.
I don’t do a lot of talking or participating, especially on the forums, but being able to join in on one of the active overflows inspired me to try helping other people in. It was cool, trying to help out. Many of the people I got in had never tried to join any overflow before and had to be guided. It was fun trying to coordinate. This is an unfortunate way for that to end.
Edit: I put in a trouble ticket to make a record of what’s going on.
Yes it was nice to see everyone pull together in the times of need!
So what if people who have multi level 80’s want to do it again, it’s not like they can level from 1 – 80 over and over agian…
Spent a good while ferrying folks from LA to the overflow(s) that still had the event running, only for the new build to kick in (and kick everyone out). What a waste.
A hearty thank-you to the person who ferried me. I paid it forward.
What a community effort…sadly, it was all for nothing, as we all got booted for a new build, just as we were finishing up the event.
I was ferried in, and ferried in a lot of people. So thank you to whoever got me in, and I’m glad I was able to ferry the others in. But we all got screwed by Anet at the end.
Thank you FleaKill for helping me get ferried in.
I know people being nice guiding others to correct over flows giving us all hope the folks who worked, had plans, heck maby even school we all had hope and then its was crushed.
only reason i started that thread xD
spent 3 other events getting people in
You’re welcome, sadly it was for nothing.
Thank you to anyone that invited me into their groups. If I do stay with this game, it will because of the community and not because of Anet. Some of us sat on a broken npc for 9 hours to the bitter end hoping that the event would start. I did leave that last hour in hopes of finding a new server and many of your were kind enough to provide invites only to have server restarts and a new build screw up the final battle. Those that I spoke to on Dragonbrand that did stay all 9 hours were there til the bitter end only to have the new build tell them that the event was finished when it never got farther than the NPC at the mid-point of the cave.
thank you small arms, from EU, thank you, too bad Anet took a dump on our heads.
Just wanna say Thank You too for all the players who exerted effort in recruiting, resu etc: you know who you are..
I agree, it’s really times like these when you can tell the kittens that ignore those whop are unfortunate and say things like “get over it” when they got the chest themselves. For all of those who tried for hours to help people get in, regardless of success of failure, much appreciation for you.
Massive thanks to everyone who was helping others to get to active overflows. Even with party UI being a total mess people were still able to let players in.
Thank you!
Anet should take notes from the GW2 community on this one, actually help people out with information and fun. Thanks to all who helped try and salvage this terrible event, but in the end the fun haters at Anet screwed us all.

I thought it was awesome that the playerbase on these forums were doing more to get people into the event then A-net did. awesome players. disappointing move on your part A-net
Revan.5497 You where my guide and i must say thanks i spent so long face palming then all the sudden a invite and bam a light in the darkness or should i say my way in.
Just wanted to add my thanks here to everyone who was helping us… across the multiple servers I got in it was heartening to see such nice people xP tried to pay it forward but servers always filled up on me. Also, MaelStrom I think we were in the same party, it was fun. xD
Agreed. Thankyou to all those who tried to help each other out, none of you deserved this

Thank you to Infernotoad, Queequeg and the rest of the awesome guys who ferried me in.
Edit: Aha! Corrected! Was going through my friendslist trying to remember who ferried me in.

Maybe you meant InfernoToad? :P
Yea i remember! so much fun i saw players and players keep coming and i was like So Sick!!! It wasn’t bland like dragon fights just afk firing away, there i was blasting and fraggin, strafing and evading.
I would also like to thank all the friendly players who helped me and many others try and complete the event even though the multiple attempts were thwarted for most including myself.
Shame on you Anet and your horrible execution of a world event. If you plan a Christmas event that turns out even 1/4 as bad as this event turned out, I will be turned off cold turkey. Because after that no amount of promises will ever make me buy another product from you again.

Maybe you meant InfernoToad? :P
There were quite a few guys on the forums who continuously helped people getting in, I haven’t seen any reply from Anet mods regarding this event.
I got two ferries into overflows in my attempts to participate in this event. I was too ecstatic at the time to thank the people who helped me. So, if you happen to recall ferrying Neobe into an overflow for this event, THANK YOU!
Sadly, I never saw the end of the ancient karka, and I remain very dejected by the lack of experience. What I did get to play was awesome, though, as were the rest of the people playing with me. Thanks for making the most of a sorry situation with me!
Safe to say this indeed impacted my views on GW2 and to think i stopped playing halo 4 haha ohhhh the irony. However if future events are somewhat similar one time events i will be one to help others join in and hopefuly we can all join in arms once again.
I was lucky enough to participate today, woke up at 5am and was super excited for the event. But after almost 12 hours (on and off), and having repeated the first two sections of the event 3 times each, and the 3rd/4th section once, I never made it to the chest. I never made it to the section where you kill the final boss, due to massive lag, client crashes, and then finally the new build. I wish i’d just slept in this morning…
