Starting this game last week, it is fairly obvious the idea of lowering a toons lvl because of the area they are in is below their actual level…..is the lamest thing any MMO’s has ever come up with? Trying to kill a boss with that set-up is a lame task were you end up dying alot…even with two other players killing a boss in certain areas is next to impossible. I spend more coins repairing. It is like the loss of exp EQ use to have but got left in the dust when Wow came along and ended that lame-ness.
You have to change that lame-ness….it is counter-productive to leveling up.

What goes around comes around.

As opposed to being a level 80 who can squash anything in low level areas in 1 hit?

Dropping a player’s avatar’s level means that anything you run into has the ability to kill you. There’s always a sense of danger that, if you’re not paying enough attention or get too kitteny you’ll be killed.

This is a brilliant concept, and far superior to the old system where a level 60-70-80 can walk into a low level area and feel like he has superhuman Hulk-like abilities by killing everything in a 5 mile radius by using a single attack.

Erm so you dont like the fact that you cant kill a boss on your own? or with 2 more people?
Really????
The whole point of bosses is that they are supposed to be hard and require more than 1 person, infact youl find some bosses youl need around 50+ people to help kill it.
If you really only want to play solo and kill everything you meet then head back to WoW or just go buy a single player game. One of the M’s in mmo stands for MULTIPLAYER!!

Personally i think having your level to match the area is an awesome idea. It means that i can go h elp my friends in lowbie areas when they start the game and they can learn faster but not have me 1 shot everything for them.

You know what would take the fun away?
A bunch of level 80s who start one-hitting everything in the area, killing the bosses I want to challenge in mere seconds and pretty much ruining the whole difficulty and expirience

Yeah no more “I’m a high level player. Stand behind me, while I solo the dungeon. This way you get the fastest your loot.”

System is fine as it is. You are not supposed to solo champions.
Allowing level 80 players (effective level) in starting areas and you kill the experience for all.

I totally agree, even when you get to lvl 80 in this game you can still go back and do hearts that you missed without it becoming VERY boring by killing everything with 1 hit. It means you have plenty still to do when you are lvl 80 without what would this game have? WvW, S/TPvp and the lvl 80 area but what you get bored of them?
