Guild Wars 2

When will the update be availible for download? I am jusk asking this (and I think there are other players in my position) because my connection speed is really slow, (2mbits, and is the max I can get around here), so the download will take some hours to finish, and I didn’t want do loose the event.

It would be nice if in the future you implement a system that downloads patches 1 or 2 days ahead of launch, so players in my situation could play without waiting 2 or 3 hours for every big patch that comes out. I think WoW had that kind of system.

The patch will surely be up for download at 12:00 PM PST (3:00 PM EST). This has already been announced.

Like I said in the other thread, I have seen nothing that states that the Lost Shores patch is today. The only thing that is coming today is the friend invite thing.

The moderator never confirmed anything. “Thank you for answering the questions” is not the same as “yes, that is the correct answer”

The Lost Shores page, when it was put up, said the patch would hit on the 15th, it said the patch would hit on the 15th, until the update that added all the new information, where the part that said the patch would be applied today, mysteriously dissapeared.

Everything that I’ve seen up to this point said the event started on the 16th the but the acutall patch with all the other stuff that is being added besided the event stuff was today, the 5 pages of skill updates, the legendary changes etc.

The Lost Shores EVENT doesn’t start till November 16th. But we kinda need the patch beforehand to download it. There may be people with a slower connection, so it might take them a while to download it.

You don’t know. I’m just going strictly by what the mod said. I’m not saying for sure it’s the 15th or the 16th. I don’t know, but many people are leaping to the “It has to be the 15th” on an assumption of the mod’s intentions.

Like I said, these threads won’t exist if an announcement of when the patch will hit live exists. The event is on the 16th however, the patch should go live before the event and if I remember right happened during the Halloween event too.

It’s simply not viable to share every milestone plan with the public. Things get re-prioritized, postponed, cancelled, redesigned, etc all the time, and every time that happened there would be a crap-storm of complaining by the people who’s favourite feature didn’t stay on the list.

Maybe the mod shouldn’t go around answering questions in vague ways that can’t possibly mean anything other than “Yes, that is correct”.

This tread asked when the update was coming. Someone said “Noon PST, this has already been answered”. A mod said “Thanks for the answer” and closed the thread.

There’s no way to read that other than “The patch is set for noon PST, as confirmed by somebody who should know what they’re talking about”. If he meant it in a different way he should’ve said so. He did not. There’s really no excuse for it.

This single thread has been linked and cited all over the place, because it was confirmation. Now they backtracked on it and deleted the only supposed confirmation there was, and it’s confusing people even further.

The mods should be reading more carefully or wording themselves more carefully if they don’t actually know this information.

Even Moreso, ArenaNet should stop leaving people in the dark on this stuff. They have to know when they’re doing these things, why won’t they just TELL US?

I’m pretty much in agreement that this is all very very confusing, so I’m going to reply to this portion of your post but…

There is an other way to read it. Because obviously, I understood it in a different way than you did. Going strictly by the wording of the post, I didn’t see any confirmation. But if people try to read between the lines, by all means. I, personally, am still going to remain skeptical about this whole “patch was promised at the 15th” business.

People have known the “major patch” would be on the 15th since late October. It was mentioned in many different places, including a couple different Dev responses talking about upcoming class changes.

This is true – it was announced for the 15th from the get-go..

Also. They can move the threads asking about the patch around, but they cant actually go ahead and SAY anything? CCP would get lynched if they tried that kind of thing!
