Wanted to give a good shout out to [HARD] for the hard fought gvg earlier tonight. It was a pleasure, and hope you enjoy yourselves as well.

Breaking News……… FA takes Redlake from RUN. After 5 hours of hiding in Hills with a treb, sitting back in the Ruins with cats, probably a dozen or so Omegas hidden away at Bay to take back Redlake.

At all costs avoid a fight. Sit back, treb, cat then rush 40 people in to take a reinforced tower held by half a dozen people lol.

Owww the arrows sting. We zerg we don’t fight. Skilled eyes. Did they serve drinks on the veranda with the extra man power that has been pouring in this week? Why get dirty and fight smaller groups unless it’s to avoid the embarrassment of seeing how many of you can’t fight a good bunch of players.

And I hope you cleaned up all your cups and tissues in the ruins and Hills and hope maybe the golem parade in the wings can cap one of the camps tomorrow. Good strategy guys. All tactics, all skill, all laughable lol

I was the RET Elementalist there. Finally got to chat with some of you. Had some amazing duels with this Engi at the end of it, and duelled that same Ebay Condi Necro i fought a few times already this week. I managed to beat him a few times, which im pretty pleased about, but he got me more times than i could get him.

I’m not sure if you noticed but leagues are won by coverage. That is the only way to win in this most poorly implemented idea. Skill means nothing. Those who blob hardest….win.

Dear [CORE], i’m very disappointed. First off, you guys are no fun, I try to have a boombox party and you bring your whole guild to kill me, very unsportsmanlike. Secondly, you guys are too easy to spike when alone! I want a challenge but i get lower than pug level skill, at least i get to look at a nice explosion though, thats if you dont high tail it out of the situation! Thirdly, the worst of it, ive had over 6 different members of [CORE] just up and vanish when fighting them, non stealth classes at that, you guys pulling the plug because you dont want to be capped by the [BUNS]?

I’m sorry we didn’t live up to your expectations. First, while not necessarily a valid excuse, many of the CORE you see running about may be trying to get back to the group. We are first and foremost team players, so we do not have the right builds for many small-scale fights, especially against the roaming duo of the Bunses. We try to make it to the fight clubs with our dueling builds and attitudes. In my personal experience, if I am running back across a map for some reason and a necro jumps me I tend to let them just kill me as its too much a hassle and time waster on my guardian.

I would love to fight the Bunses sometime, both singly or in a 2v2. I’m sure we can find the fights you are looking for. We are always looking for ways to improve.

On your second point, I’m not sure who would be doing that, but we do not encourage it in the slightest. I’m sorry for any experiences you had with that, but there are other explanations as well. Queue popping and the sort.

And about the boomboxing. While I am glad you are trying to have a party with us, you are one of the more famous IoJers and thus will get smashed just like anyone else. We do not discriminate with our wipes.

Sore winners aside, the reality of FA is that your coverage and wvw population make it hard to really stand out amongst the blob and your strong players and guilds only get recognized when you come up against equally strong groups or when you roll a much larger organized group with fewer numbers. You can’t really compare FA skill level vs IoJ skill level because we are worlds apart. Not sure what putting us down really does for your morale, but IoJ can handle the criticism. We know were we stand this season. Again if you haven’t noticed, FA is in first and IoJ is solidly 3rd each match up.

IoJ lacks the coverage, but we do have a large number of skilled groups and players. When we take a tower or keep with the outmanned buff on and multiple enemy zergs running around we rally around these victories and they create positive camaraderie amongst our wvw population. IoJ is getting good at these small victories and we are gaining a unique skill set that we will bring to all future matches.

Overall has been a fun week with great battles, good luck on next match-ups. NSP, IoJ is coming for you :-) Happy hunting all!

Mister Buns runs solo a lot (Because I become terribly ill as of late, and when not it’s just two necros, can you not handle that?) So, you’ve just been on the wrong maps.

Nothing wrong with that. CORE also has some good individual players that I’ve run across. Same with the other zerg guilds.

Basically, every blob guild has some good players in it. They are typically the ones who go out and roam solo/duo/small when not zerging. But, if all you ever do is run with large numbers the chances are that you are not a very good player.

Doesn’t look like my apartment is going to get ttInternet before reset. I wish I didn’t have to move this week so I could have played against so old friends and new enemies more, but alas, a few nights of hotel Internet and laptop keyboard was all I could muster. Luckily our paths cross again in two weeks before leagues are over and we don’t see each other for a long time.

We spend the majority of our time theorycrafting for when we are playing together in a group of 15-25. No, we don’t claim to be elite roamers, and hell yeah I’m going to ignore your attempt at a 1v1 if I’m in a support guard build. It’s a waste of my time from getting to the group I’m supporting. You guys had the same trash talked about you when IOJ was getting big and we zerged a lot. I didn’t think so many of you would fall so quickly to the xoxo mantra of Lololololol no skill only numbers. There are multiple ways to wvw and we prefer to play in a large group of friends on ts.

Our transition to FA has been rough, we lost a few people and our guild leader within a week of transferring. We struggled for a bit, but Arch, Seeki, myself and a few others stepped up to lead and take control of a guild we loved. We are starting to grow again finally, and getting back to where we were before the transfer. We love the culture of FA where so many people are involved in wvw and on ts. It’s been incredibly fun and we can’t wait for leagues to be over so we can fight more even servers. Best of luck.

Eh. That’s a bold statement to make. Probably fairly true, but I look at it a bit differently. I’d say most successful roamers are just people who have practice at it. If that’s all they do, they will be good at it, most of the time. To me, most of the small scale fights/duels are just about who can get their rotation off first.

You could say I’m a zergling, but its mainly because I don’t find fights with under 10 people very exciting. I like the chaos of a big fight and the movements needed to flank larger groups. The ebb and flow of a big fight is fun to me. Nothing is better than getting pushed back by the other group, having a successful regroup and then pushing back and get the enemy backpedaling.

And I’ve learned a lot about fighting while running with my guild. Especially over the last few weeks I’ve felt my play step up a ton. And none of it happened while roaming.

The difference is that XOXO was always exaggerating our numbers. If we were running 8 they would say we had 15. At that time, we topped out around 15 and were almost always 10 or under. Now, we max out at 10 and are usually running 6 and under.

I typically only give flak to the guild groups that go out of their way to chase 5 or less of us around with 20+ people. That would be most of the guilds on FA.

Well can you blame us? You guys are most likely the only ones on the map. While it would be nice for everyone to selflessly step back and let the fights be even, it’s not going to happen when everyone has been jonesing for a fight all week. Many of us are locked on a map with queues on the maps that have fights so we take what we can find. I wish Ebay and IoJ had large zergs to fight all the time like SBI. But you don’t. But I’m not going to stop playing just to make things more even for you.

For the future, if you’d like more even fights while roaming about, try to message guild leaders of the guilds you see. But just roaming about and then complaining about getting steam rolled by a zerg is just what happens. Most groups don’t draw our attention unless they are over 10, the rest are speedbumps or funny targets.

The QQ whines of IoJ are so strong on Thursday.

Very well stated, I couldn’t have explained it better myself. I too enjoy the huge organized fights and the skill that goes along with it.

I can see the solo roamers point of view to an extent because if all a player does in a zerg is press 11111, then yes I agree there’s not much skill involved, however I find if you are zerging efficiently and you are following orders given by the commander on TS, utilizing all of your skill bar, utilizing attack & evasive techniques, rezzing your comrades and keeping in mind battlefield situational awareness (i.e, expecting counter attacks, ambushes, flankings etc) I believe this is just as skilled as roaming (1v1) but obviously in a different way.

I personally enjoy all aspects of WvW, I roam as well, sometimes I win and sometimes I lose, but for me there is nothing like a large organized battle to quench my thirst for blood.

For a roamer who does nothing but 1v1 to say that a player in a zerg has no skill is just incorrect and they are in my opinion missing out on one of the most fun parts of WvW.

To my CORE brothers, after leagues are over, we will go back to having those large scale battles that we all crave (fighting TC, JQ, BG & SoR). So please keep doing what you’re doing, and don’t worry about the critics, you are a great guild and I am proud that you are a part of the FA family.
