…too bad you kept attacking after i bowed to you and stopped attacking…and brought your 4 friends to finish me off. But the fight was nice, kudos.

Anyway, i had fun so far, yesterday around 0.00-1.00 we tried to take RoF bay with our guild party of 8-10 and almost succeeded for 2 times. Almost. We capped couple of towers and went to bed after the 2nd bay wipe. It was cool to see some members who usually do pve join us in the borderlands.

This is only fun and isnt representing my or my guilds opinion. But maybe somewhere is a little essence of truth hidden? Who knows.

So far the match up was better than i expected, sadly some RAGE guys dont get enough of a challenge here. But you can now enjoy new pve content if wvw is too boring,
At this point i wanted to thank all guilds that actually enjoy fighting on their own with more or less even numbers.

The reason why this matchup is boring has to do with the general mentality of the servers we face. And I’m not talking about primetime here but here’s one of my roaming stories: I (thief) open on a glassy UW thief. UW mesmer enters the fight. I down UW thief. UW warrior enters fight, interrupts stomp. I get the stomp, open on squishy mesmer, down him and get ran over by the thief from before and 2 of his guildies adding back in the fight from WP. I was worth about 3 wxp and hope I dropped a precursor for all of you. I only mention this because it was my most successful roaming attempt this matchup. RoF you guys are consistent and generally nice to fight. Shame you don’t have more roamers.
UW was my original home and I’m disappointed of what it’s like now.

What were you expecting to happen? That those would have attacked you one by one and after you had beaten them all they would let you move on with your roaming? If you want fair and square duels, do duels behind orchard or something :P

If I see my server mate fighting someone on an openfield, I don’t hesitate to initiate on the enemy as well. I know too well how much one good roamer can impact how the server does. I can list you a short list of reason why I would have attacked you as well.

- Solo roamer can easily take down dolyaks
- Solo roamer can capture camps
- Solo roamer can tag keeps and towers away from main fight to pull scouts / small portion of map population to that location
- Solo roamer can kill reinforcments going to the main fight

Too many good reasons to help killing you even if it was already 3v1 :P

I do a lot of solo / small group roaming, so I know how much havoc me or my group can bring to the map. Supply is vital for defenders, don’t expect you can freely disturpt that

Funny you mention that… Lets think back sunday and monday, when all GH best guilds, (except TEO) was attemping to take bay at UW, for those 2 days in a row you failled to cap it, as far as i know, it was GH primetime, and we managed to push you back from bay, (don’t come complain bout ac’s, we had only 4-5 inside lord, and just yesterday saw 5 superior ac’s on hills north gate on RoF bdl that you controlled) And about the hours that SLAY plays, we have quite a few diferent time zones, and people have different working schedules, so it’s normal if you see some at night, and some during the morning, but i can assure you, that you don’t see nearly as many SLAY asat about 20-21pm which is when we normally start.

Btw, if you get bored of attacking bay, it’s disrespectfull to use the tonics and walk around making fun of UW players, so… nice show of matureness, not gona mention any guild, but you guys know who you are, so show some respect next time…

The point is, one can not know what you are up to. I doubt anyone has any super senses to read other peoples minds over internet. Theres no easy way to tell if you are there for small fights or actually trying to disturb the supplies or something else.

If you are in the proximity of my keep or camp, or between keep and camp, or even anywhere inside “my servers turf”, I don’t hesitate to attack as I’m usually defending.

And whats wrong for playing for points? Some people play for big fights, some play for small scale fights, some for duels and some for points, and this last one might come as a surprise to you, some play for Defending.

For some of us, even how absurd it might sound to you, its big thing to hold a tower, keep or whole border as well as possible. For my guild its a trademark to be honest. If you are anywhere near to me and you possess any means to harm my objective of defending, don’t even think I would hesitate to jump you.

PS. I do duels as well, they are arranged though and I’m well aware that there might be randoms jumping in the fight if we don’t do it somewhere relatively safe, as there is no safe spot to do duels in WvW.

Let’s make an agreement then. If you fancy defending stuff do so in peace I don’t mind. I let you upgrade your camps and you let me beat pugs and feel like a pro. :P
Thief is not my main and I don’t even dream of being able to beat skilled people with it. But at least I try to go for fights with sth other than PvE objectives. Also can I recruit some of GuM to defend temple of balthazar next time it’s open so I can finish my gear on thief? You can upgrade the temple, place ac’s to farm risen and ballistae to take out champs. Ty.

Yes, because capping keeps/towers now is PvE, only having solo/guild fights is considered WvW, somewhere in between since the game was released and all these WvW patches (few, i know) PPT’s and capping stuff is now PvE, thank you for the enlightment.

P.S. Wana Solo fights? there’s a feauture in sPvP that allows you to solo queue and another allowing you to buy an arena and have all the solo you want

DanyK, as long as you stay a far away from UW Border Im most likely letting you go as I rarely venture out of that border.

Also, you must be the slowest buyer of all time if you need a guild to hold and defend a temple for you to buy the armor. We were speaking of only defending the temple, right?

And if you don’t mind, I would like to ask you to come over to Underworld to speak how people should play their game. I bet it would be huge success. You could start off by telling that one should not do their story mode nor play Living story. Next you could tell that killing any mob that is not necessary for your objective should be left alone, except if they challenge you to fair duel. And lastly you could talk to our sPvP folk how capturing and holding points is useless and only kills count, and the kills should be done in fair one versus one enviroment.

Sadly it seems our servers have a different opinion on what is fun. Most of our guilds raid in the hopes of some open field fights, but during our primetime most of UW hide in keeps so we dont have a huge amount of fun. You guys seem to enjoy building arrowcarts and holding objectives which you still get to do so i presume you are enjoying this matchup.
If you guys came out and fought os more we probably woudnt get so bored and sttart sieging so you could keep your ppt and learn a thing or 2.

This is not meant as whining nor as anything against RAGE but all you enjoy is open field hugging with your other GH guilds. I rarely saw some of you running alone when the enemy had numbers close to yours.
At the reset DEX was able to stomp you 2 times, we had at the reset arround 25 people. In the week we had never more that 15 people and now we got stomped by your melee train. Nearly all i have seen from RAGE during the week in the prime times was hand holding with various other GH guilds. We faced you a few times in the open areas but allways were outnumbered there. You dont seek a challenge you seek kills and slaughter.

This is my personal opinion but i think many of the smaller UW guilds think the same.
Maybe its even something only DEX expierienced.

And here i have a small story to counter your roaming drama. DEX heard once that some guys of HT go to our northcamp. After a hard day of fighting big guild groups we had only 6 people that reacted and came to defend the camp. At the western exit we saw the roaming group of arround 10 HT which got supported by some other people. We dediced to attack them and even pushed them in the open field area outside of the camp and even downed a few people. In the middle of the fight something painful ran over us. The RAGE meleetrain came veiled into our 6 man group that allready was outnumbered. You interrupted a really nice small scale fight of which the end wasnt decided yet.

U won’t see us take eny keeps/camps/towers if u provide us Open field battles.
We built trebs to lure Groups out of there tower.
We built catas to take down the walls so we can slay them inside a tower.
We built Rams to take down the gate so we can get inside and if no1 shows up we might take it. If we get a good fight we might not take it.
We built ballista/ac only to Hit Siege that can irritate a Open field fight.

U won’t see us siege unless u siege.

Since this match up is what it is. U won’t see gunners do what gunners like to do.

Afaik [RAGE] has never and will never run with a tag up. Last night we seemed to be a magnet to pugs despite the fact there was a commander on the map. There will be times when we run alongside another guild but these times are rare and situational. We would never do it intentionally because we dont like rolling like that. Last night we were the only guild in your border.
If you guys want a fair fight with us we would love to GvG even if its a friendly or ranked as we love fair fights just as much. From the sounds of the reset you had in a fair fight you should smash us

I did not say that you blob up with randoms, i said that you often run close to the other guild groups.
And sorry we wont do a gvg since DEX is playing since 2 weeks in this setup. We dont have a gvg setup, we dont have specific gear for gvgs and we never did a gvg before.

Fair fight is very hard to determine. In my opinion, it is fair to use siege inside tower/keep to take out your siege and give pressure for the attacking force, but I assume this is lame in your eyes. Also taking and holding the points is pretty much the point of this game mode. So aren’t we the ones who are pushing you guys to the right direction?

Just like I enjoy every week, be it running headfirst onto Blobaddon trains, trying to keep Hills against superior numbers from two servers, or getting torn into pieces by TuP on the field. Oh btw, if I wanted to learn a thing or two about field fights I’d knock TuP’s door not yours. They were kind enough to say they enjoyed our matchup instead of saying how lame our server/guild is.

Being an UW player who enjoys running alongside APE guild quite often I have to say your perception of RAGE is at best situational. I myself have had some decent fun attacking and defending against them this week and previously and imo they don’t look to blob and Karma train.. in fact quite the opposite they appear to either go looking for trouble or react to it when it finds them. Every guild whether it runs with a tag or not will at times pick up stragglers or in some cases when a guild commands respect on their own maps other players choose to run alongside them rather than following other groups or commanders.

So please quit the whine and learn to just roll with the punches… its WvW not 1v1 and all is fair in love and war.

Actually I’m enjoying this week more than I did during last couple of weeks. So many 12-20 players groups to fight against.

I only said what i experienced. Pls read my post again. What happened to us was 2 times at Hills in GH borderland and 2 times in Bay UW borderland. Oh i forget the fight for lake tower. That was actually 3 GH groups that all looked like guild groups. Every of your groups there had more people in total that the two UW forces that fought you. (GRTS and DEX)

But then again i can only say what i experience. I hope for RAGE that they also have the nice fights you spoke of since it has to be boring to steamroll 15 man groups with +/-25 all the time.

RAGE has had a lot of good fights in this matchup. Some were provided by you in DEX, others from SLAY, GRTS and TaG to name a few. In some we were outnumbered in some we outnumbered you. Some good laughs has also been had by the annoying/funny supply trappers of what we assume to be GuM.

Like previously stated RAGE prefers not to get stuck in long sieges. The simple reason being we’re very bad at it and more often than not make a complete mess of things
I guess the lack of GvGs and less than we’re used too open field fights make us frustrated but we still admire how well UW defends, even if it’s not our prefered playstyle!

If DEX is interested you’re more than welcome to whisper us during raids and we can try to run into eachother on more equal terms. We’ve enjoyed fighting you so far and hope to do so a couple more times during the matchup

Bring some of your guilds to Eternal Battlegrounds.. And you were not outmanned, we’ve breached the EB keep twice, and when we do that, on a magical way 80 Gunners appear to defend. When we decide to retreat from the 15 Superior arrowcarts build all along the wall, and we regroup. That blob suddenly dissappears again.

We’ve been farming Aldon, Klovan, Wildcreek from our Trebmist for the past 6 hours.

P.s- We loved the classical ‘Golems Hold’ attempt on Stonemist, I bet you did not expect us to be that many when you breached the inner door.

I log in everyday with 4 different characters in wvw. Not a single siege on my inventory and no way i lose my time with that bs. We play a completely different game. I like the pvp side of wvw. Have fun, our farming session starts on 15 mins.

I only said what i experienced. Pls read my post again. What happened to us was 2 times at Hills in GH borderland and 2 times in Bay UW borderland. Oh i forget the fight for lake tower. That was actually 3 GH groups that all looked like guild groups. Every of your groups there had more people in total that the two UW forces that fought you. (GRTS and DEX)

But then again i can only say what i experience. I hope for RAGE that they also have the nice fights you spoke of since it has to be boring to steamroll 15 man groups with +/-25 all the time.

I never said it wasn’t what you experienced.. in fact if you read my post to you it infers it was your “situational” experience rather than the norm.

And tbh a 15man group should not be so easily steam rolled by a +/- 25 opposition if your coordinating and have some tactical nouse.

As I said.. players log into WvW to play the game the way they want in the time they have available.. if you come across a superior group/zerg or whatever, the choices are simple.. put up or turn tail.. .. why does that warrant crying on the forum because another guild group gave you repeated spankings…. its not the fault of the opposition that your group is inferior in numbers and possibly other things as well.

You can’t see the buff anymore so unless you’re doing rapid counting of people you’d not know any more if someone is or isn’t outmanned. (short of lol spies ofc :P)

Don’t mind Archi, this week has seen UW put some numbers out in WvW so he has found some courage to crawl out and tag up for glory.. except when it doesn’t quite go to plan he resorts to his joker card (whinning and critiquing oppositions tactics and apparent unfairness).

DEX is playing 2 weeks in the current setup. We dont have a problem with fighting one group of +/-25, but the groups of FURY and RAGE are skilled, they know how to focus their damage. We have people that started playing the zerg fight game this week.
And a group of +/-25 skilled players will whipe a group of 15 people.

Ouch, that’s harsh. Bringing up ppt is something i didn’t see coming from your side.

Too bad any match up thread, no matter the servers, are getting pretty much about the same stuff.
