BT blurs for the same reason they don’t GvG, its simply a blob guild only. Any accomplishment in game that they do will always be accompanied by having a full BL at their backs. It’s such a shame to watch those video tidbits we get each week, everyone here on SoR just keeps hoping that maybe they can step out of that protective blob of theirs and challenge themselves, but every week we are disappointed As I stated before BT, TW is more than willing to pop your cherry and fight you in a GvG. Yes I know the story already BT about how you enjoy the random terrain fights, and never knowing when a fight will come, but until you prove your skill with equal numbers against any of the fine T1 GvG guilds., your guild will continue to be the laughing stock of T1 with that protective blob of yours.
We get more enjoyment from the rage tells and trolling than any sort of recognition on the forums. Me personally, I don’t mind the whole gvg thing and wouldn’t mind doing it. That said, I’d prefer it were more like daoc’s 8v8 where you still have a roaming element to it… sadly that’s not possible in this game. Tiny maps and all that jazz.

I think he means more along the lines of tier 1 being overly full in general due to blackhole sized zergs that suck the entire map into their skill lag 1!11!!11!1!11!! nightmare. >< If ANET isn’t going to do anything about this problem it is our hands to make this more than a game of who can mash their #1 key faster. Which means I don’t much hope for improvement anytime soon.

Zerging it up does consist of those things that you said but at the end of the day its just zerging. The build up to a big fight, as well as fighting in one, is some of the best nerves/excitement you can have in this game. It’s quite hard to explain, best way to find out what it’s like, try.

GvG is a different format nearly, it really is a shame there isn’t a supported proper place for it. If I were to do it i would spend a lot of time meticulously getting the exact right class comp and build comp. Making sure the exact right combo of ~20 people. That stress or added work (in which you could possibly have builds that aren’t good for general WvW) just isn’t worth it to a lot of people (myself included). And if you don’t do all that theorycrafting or cherry-picking classes/members, you’re at a disadvantage to your opponent.

For the record, BT doesn’t let everyone into their TS, and will often encourage militia to follow a community TS commander. In the end though, won’t outright tell people to kitten off on a map, as people will follow anyway. If you think this is mindless zerging then oh well; we do what we can.

I totally agree mate, gvg is a totally seperate kinda game, you have to spend ages preparing and then put it into effect in the wvw environment. Ostrasizing many of your members. Some guilds are built for gvg some guilds are’nt, imao there is no shame in not doing gvg and concentrating on wvw.
Having said that gvg is fun and you learn alot from it. But i remember when golden horde were fighting rg, they took 2 weeks out of wvw for non stop training, it is not always feasible to do this, especially as you want to perform your best.
Anyway I see no issue with you guys not gvg’ing and you should not have to make any excuses for not doing so.
LOL, it’s okay. I didn’t lead the whole night, and like I said, I was commanding militia. Besides, it was the first time I put my tag up since I was on Dragonbrand in Tier 3. Gotta learn sometime. Took a couple of fortified towers from you guys before you started rallying your whole server to hit our 30 person group of militia.

Jahn, that is completely your opinion, and some may agree with you, but not everyone. You said you aren’t sure why people are making a big deal out of it, but you did exactly what they did. If anything, you came across with a rude, elitist attitude.

I’ve carebeared in other games before where I was friends with my enemies and it completely ruined the experience because I didn’t want them dead anymore. I advise people to avoid that sort of thing. I think that BT and FEAR have it right. If it’s red it’s dead, make no apologies and take no prisoners.
