I like how ET had a zerg of 30 but couldn’t take a keep from 10 to maybe 15 man zerg, as well as they couldn’t even break through the first wall and got mopped when they rushed in. As for FC, not only did we face dying servers, but we also started to have good coverage and etc. As for now FC is lacking real numbers. I know this because at one point you would pop your head into any BL and it would most likely have a tag and a group. No adays it feels like im alone roaming half the time. FC has really lost major numbers, mainly because our people either left for Teq or GTA V…

lol? 30 plus? We had 15-20 fallowing my tag and you had the same numbers, you all couldn’t fight us open field kept getting whipped so you kept running into your keep and hiding behind Arrowcarts, cannons, nice skill FC.. not.

Its cool I understand you all cant fight us straight up hide behind your siege you all had multi arrow carts behind the downed wall and multi arrow carts hitting from above of course we going to get whipped when we push a choke. Its all good we already proved to you all we better by whipping all of you multi. times tonight nice defense tho ill give you that one for the siege but your skill as players, I will say you all need some practice.

Meanwhile in EB we wiped ET’s zerg one time and they wouldn’t fight us again. We’d stack around a corner prepping for a fight, turn the corner, and look up at them in the tower on the walls behind their arrow carts.

Lmfao you telling me 15 of you couldn’t portal bomb (double dodge through CC). then make a push up the stairs, pull off any siege operators. Also Outnumbered? your friend saying you guys were outnumbered is such a troll. Also I did count more then 15 I ran through your blob 4 times, I died 3 times. You had 5-10 staying near the fight while 20 of you ran back to the tower and came back in a train. Also you managed to break down a wall and most of you wiped through the choke point.

All I am saying is you should reconsider your tactics when fighting groups. What happened was a mistake on your part, you had superior numbers, and most of the guys in my side I had to yell at them in map chat to even get them to make a move on you. I will admit my Ferg pugs need a push at times, they sometimes stood there while I zerg dived by myself just to turn around and watch them stare at me get pummeled.

But saying you have superior tactics, come tell me that when I see 10 of you wipe a 30 man zerg of fergs. As for arrowcarts, don’t act like your own pugs don’t do that, and in fact the reason you couldn’t flash build 3 siege items that i took out, is another mistake on your groups part, should have taken camp resupplied, checked for siege, place ina tactical spot… I’ll stop but you can work off from there.

End note we pushed your force 4x and you only succeeded in breaking through once, we got numbers near the end, but in the beginning it was a rag tag group of roamers and a commander.

It’s ok I know FC is full of warriors, we never back down, and I will too see my own server as superior. For now though I didn’t care if ET is bottom or top, i just care that FC stays with its fierce loyal pugs. So this is more of me defending my server. We have lost coverage but don’t worry we will make sure to get you off your high horse, only a few have been able to ride us, but those few fell victims to us, IoJ , DR, GoM, soon I hope HoD gets its payback. The ET FC feud dates back to the age of our ancestors, its natural we fight for prowess.

There’s nothing wrong with using siege to defend an objective. Where it goes downhill is when even numbers won’t come out to play unless you come into range of their ballistas or arrow carts. Or, like the group of 7 or 8 Ferg (every server does this, not just FC, I’ve seen DR do it as well) )that were standing at the cannons in Bay every time we ran by for about an hour last night. How is that fun?

Come out and play next time. What’s the worst that could happen, you have to run back to your cannons?

^ yeah Ferg is like Sparta, we train our pugs good, as for ET being nay better, i think for a reason its always been in the bottom place, as for its current standing in the matchups, ET faced several bigger servers, the way the rating system works is even if you are a low rated server facing a server slots away, it lowers the rating of the higher server and boosts the lower server rating even if the lower server is barely holding on by a 100 ppt. So atm ET has gotten a boost from this, as for FC even if we have had 20k+ lead on GoM and DR and etc, it hasnt helped us because we are rated almost higher then AR and DR at this point. So we wont catch up to ET unless FC gets a matchup with NSp and SF while ET gets to play with AR and DR, then we can rank up a bit more to ET’s place.

Why does “everyone” hate arrow carts so much? I absolutely love them. And ballistas, and trebuchets, catapults, rams, and even golems (sometimes). I love cannons (Bessie!), mortars, and oil too.

I love hammers, greatswords, longbows, warhorns , pistols, and every single tool in this game that allows me to kill opposing players.

If I have to build one arrow cart to prevent your zerg from breaking down a gate, I will. If I have to build two ballistas to kill your golems approaching a tower, I will. If I have to build four superior catapults to take down your paper walls, I will. If I have have to build FIFTEEN arrow carts to kill your roaming group of six people, you can bet your tootie fruity that I will. Because in the end, you are dead. You lost your stacks. You have to run all the way back from spawn and try it again. I’m alive. You are not. And I won, using all of the tools that the game allows me to use, because…well…they’re all pretty freakin useful.

Oh, and this thread is friggin ridiculous. And not in a good way…

Arrow carts aren’t nearly as fun as open field combat. Open field combat is reliant on skill (not just pressing 1, 2, 3 and aiming your mouse). While I do get fun out of raining arrows down on a zerg, I feel silly when it is only a few people. I especially get annoyed if there are equal numbers on both sides. C’mon open field fight me guys!

I’m not trying to convince you to change your ways. I want to explain why arrow carts are looked on unfavorably.

So lots of folks in this thread, and elsewhere, have had some sort of perspective on why Eredon Terrace has risen from 24th place to 20th place. Here’s why I think we’ve risen in ranks:

(in no specific order)
1. Better coordination and communication. We are becoming better at using the tools we’ve had for quite some time: server-wide voice chat and server forums. We didn’t just start using either of these two things. We’ve had them both for several months. Heck, we’ve been through at least three voice chats. It’s definately been a slow process, but we’re all finally starting to get with the program and now we’re effectively using these things to promote server unity and cohesion, both on the battlefield (WvW) and for various events (PvE).

2. An increase in our skill level. The veterans of ET are battle-forged. Make no mistake, some of us have been here since the beginning. We’ve been killed over and over and over again, but we learn something each time that spike goes through us. Sometimes we get set in our ways, but then we welcome “fresh blood” transfers like the IoM’s, Jawa’s, and PPP’s of the world. They bring fresh tactics and unknown skills from other servers. It’s fresh information, and we work it into the ET culture in the ways that work best for us.

3. The silly ranking system. We’ve certainly got a boost in our rankings through our matchup with servers with way more coverage than our own. They’re always predicted to stomp us straight under the ground. But we find a way to stay above ground. We find a way to not get stomped quite as much as the matchup predicts, and we gain points for it.

4. New players and transfers to ET. We’re getting new players all the time. Sometimes they’re coming in by the guild, like the three guilds mentioned above, and sometimes they’re trickling in by the onesies and twosies. Sometimes we’re even “converting” PvE-only players to the dark side that is WvW. Sometimes they like it and stay. Sometimes they don’t. Make no mistake though, we aren’t getting any massive transfers. Heck, when we get word that even a five or six player guild is considering joining our server, we’re all jumping for joy and trying to find out what we can do to make their decision to transfer easier.

5. Other servers falling in ranks. Not everyone can be last. Last is a pretty dynamic spot to be, especially over the last couple of months. Servers can rise and they can fall. It just so happens that there are a few servers that have lost players, lost heart, been drawn to PvE events, or whatever. It doesn’t really matter what the reasons are. But it does matter that they have fallen down the ranking ladder and this has partially contributed to our rise up the ladder.

6. Guild cohesion. I’m a little out of my element here, as I am in a guild of exactly two people, but I’ll give my perspective and hopefully it makes sense. There are lots of guilds on our server. Many are PvE oriented. There are a few that are WvW oriented, and probably a few that are sPvP oriented. Over time, lots of the die-hard WvW’ers have left some of the larger PvE guilds and have been assimilated into, or just created their own, WvW-oriented guilds. This has allowed them to become a pure cohesive wrecking ball of fury. They’re coordinating together on chat, they’re building characters around each other. They’re just becoming better at WvW. In other words, we’re not all just a bunch of random-guild people thrust together trying to do the best we can. We’re actively joining with similarly-minded people and trying to become better at the things we love.

I hope that makes sense, even if it was long as heck to read (thanks for getting this far!). Nothing but <3 for my ET brothers and sisters. I look forward to continuing to stand shoulder to shoulder with all of you.

Why does “everyone” hate arrow carts so much? I absolutely love them. And ballistas, and trebuchets, catapults, rams, and even golems (sometimes). I love cannons (Bessie!), mortars, and oil too.

I love hammers, greatswords, longbows, warhorns , pistols, and every single tool in this game that allows me to kill opposing players.

If I have to build one arrow cart to prevent your zerg from breaking down a gate, I will. If I have to build two ballistas to kill your golems approaching a tower, I will. If I have to build four superior catapults to take down your paper walls, I will. If I have have to build FIFTEEN arrow carts to kill your roaming group of six people, you can bet your tootie fruity that I will. Because in the end, you are dead. You lost your stacks. You have to run all the way back from spawn and try it again. I’m alive. You are not. And I won, using all of the tools that the game allows me to use, because…well…they’re all pretty freakin useful.

Oh, and this thread is friggin ridiculous. And not in a good way…

Arrow carts aren’t nearly as fun as open field combat. Open field combat is reliant on skill (not just pressing 1, 2, 3 and aiming your mouse). While I do get fun out of raining arrows down on a zerg, I feel silly when it is only a few people. I especially get annoyed if there are equal numbers on both sides. C’mon open field fight me guys!

I’m not trying to convince you to change your ways. I want to explain why arrow carts are looked on unfavorably.

as an occasional zergling, all open field fighting is is spamming 1 while listening to the commander scream the next water field location.

at least acs have 3 buttons and dont require ears.

ET guys, give yourself a pat on the back. You’ve made FC use strategy. They’ve lost too many open field battles during primetime, now they stick to their Keeps and Towers and AC and Siege you to death. Don’t be upset with them. Learn to adapt and dictate the terms of your engagements.

And the strategy crack can be used for parts of any server, tbh. You don’t see me downing ET/DR cause some of their zerglets use the following strat:

• Send one person to cap
• If one fails, send two
• If two fail, send a 10-20 man posse.

Just took a camp from 3 ET pugs , 2 eles and 1 warrior, killed them both, and even had someone show up to help me mop up the camp, rule of thumb use the camp better when you outnumber someone and use it well to your advantage.

Just so much skill everywhere! I love this match up!

For everyone who called me a traitor today on DR bl… Just because a rep an FC guild doesn’t mean i am a traitor. Also if you knew who I was you would also not call me a traitor. I have fought for DR since the game came out. Guess my time is up. After today I don’t feel like helping anymore. Thanks for all the fun times and good-bye DR!

This may be a T7/8 match but we are T3/4 on the forums!

I have grown accustomed to fighting guild groups in the open field the past couple of months. We have really enjoyed learning and getting better at open field combat. Lots of impromptu GvG if you will. This aspect has been sorely missing in this matchup. On top of that, we are actually winning. So I am pretty much bored. I am tired of chasing Ferg into towers. I am also tired of killing golems, lots and lots of golems. I killed upwards of 20 golems commanding today. I have taken up 1vXX’ing Fergs outside ET towers and not running in to hop on arrow carts, but fighting, and well dying. Maybe I am just a cranky old man. Yes, yes I am.

That Ferg Bay fight was absurdly hilarious. Ferg you are right [IoM] just does not have the patience to widdle away at T3 defended keeps full of supply and defenders. Its just not something we are good at, and I am glad for that honestly. I want to kill, and move, and kill some more, and move, move, kill. I can’t sit around all night keeping supplies cut, destroying siege, and slowly draining that supply. That’s not my jam. My jam was killing Ferg over and over and over again during that kitten siege. I had to drop merchants twice to unload my bags. I guess I killed those 6 Ferg defenders 15x each. Sorry for your repair bills, I really must salute your persistence.
