I dont get all of this…are you guys mad at [Mend] because you dont like them or because they left? From what i gather from looking at it, seemed they werent all too popular but the main reason for the hate is that they left the server. A “how dare you leave us even though we hate you” kind of thing, something [Buns] knows all too well.

[Mend] is a great guild and has many likable and skilled players, I for one am happy they decided to stay on IoJ when a lot of other guilds decided it was time to leave. Major props to them for being the only transfer guild to stay the entire season, even though we were matched up in impossible to win matchups, with much higher tiered servers.

Well you see, what had happened was (and this is from my perspective, I have no “insider” story on what might be factually correct in all this, but i believe most of it to be) Mend rightly deserved about 90% of the hate they got. They continuously bashed on people who didn’t play the way they did, which basically made them enemies with all of HoD’s rather decent sized roaming population at the time, and then bashed other guilds who didn’t do what they wanted, which from what I saw was sit in towers and then rely on siege to win against enemy PuG zergs. I really have no idea what their win/lose situation was in fights, but I hope to god with all the siege they used that they wiped those PuG zergs.

After getting fed up with this “hate”, which was mostly just stuff redirected back at them as Flappy during his time on HoD came off the most as quite the kitten bag for reasons states above, they basically said “Bye HoD we’re leaving because you’re bad and we’re so much better than you, blah blah, blah blah, screw you guys, etc.” and left. Resulting in the hate most of HoD has for them now.

Sure some of us may have taken things too far every now and then, but I don’t regret it one bit. And I’m enjoying wiping every single small/solo Mend group I see this week and it feels kitten good.

You do realize though that the negative commentary in this thread is pretty one-sided. Our experience with Mend has been that the vast majority of them stay off the forums, stay out of the drama, and show up to play every night. And that’s been through some bad times on the server.

We’ve had people on our server criticize the general play and leave for different reasons, like every other server. Despite a few exchanged words on our private forums, we did what any adult should do and got over it. The borderline obsessive commentary in this thread doesn’t do much to support the idea it was them who soured the situation on your server. Neither does the incessant, weak trolling of our server, which was unprovoked, unless people are planning on playing the Mend card again.

I’m not gonna take the low-road and offer opinions about what I’ve seen so far on the field. But, people are stretching it pretty far with some of the above laughable statements.

There are many reasons why some of us on HoD have hard feelings towards [Mend]. Those who were involved know the reasons but I’m sure everyone would just like to move on past it. This is the first time HoD has had a matchup against them since they left so it’s understandable why people are so aggressive. Please do not take this as slight to IoJ as a whole or even the entirety of the [Mend] guild as clearly they have added members from the IoJ community. This has been a great matchup and I’m sure it will be throughout the week. Lots of fun all around. CD has been great despite two matchups in a row and it’s always nice seeing new faces and new roamers about from IoJ.
Looking forward to more good fights and forum warring because who doesn’t like a good forum war and some good fights? AND STAY OUTA HoD BL YA kittenS! hahaha

1) You made it but as a part of the leadership of Mend, you are suppose to be an effective role model ( a representative of your guild) to the HoD Community.
2)An HoD member did post the video however you did have intent to show it publicly ( to a few members or the whole server I don’t now). I heard your convo on TS3 on how you were making one last farewell to HoD video that was to be accompanied by the song War Pigs by Black Sabbath (as you were recording your own version of it). That creepy immature video was playing that music. I can only assume that was your last farewell video.

You are a very skilled commander and mesmer who had a lot of respect ( and still do) from the HoD community (most people loved to follow you in WvW because they knew you knew what you were doing). You took the dirt road instead of the high ground that you should have taken during all the insult throwing of some of the HoD members. That was a mistake.

I know it is hard for you Geist (and for Flappy) but you need to just ignore the pokes at Mend from HoD members (including my own little poke). Making another video “for our entertainment” would only give some of the forum instigators the fuel they need to troll you more.

Yeah they should work 40+ v 20, just saying. Golf claps all around, took [Mend] + pugs to make a portal bomb work, I’d feel like I accomplished something too if it took 40+ of us to split and portal bomb 20, and still get over half wiped. Wait…… no I wouldn’t, just joking.

Wiping us 1 time is a big accomplishment? keep the portal bombs coming. Honestly it’s been a fun match up, but.. the kitten is strong in a lot of people.

The only thing that I have seen Mend to that works is boring us to death hiding in a tower… Yes I’m talking about last night you holding 30-40 inside of SW tower for 10 minutes while 20 MU scratch our heads wondering, “Is this really fun for them?” If you would like to test your mettle against us in good natured, respectful open-field combat we would sure enjoy it. It’s what we’ve been asking for.

at most mend has 30 people on reset night, but usually we have between 20 and 25, theres no way in hell 25 people will queue a map, not to mention we will barely throw more than 5 pieces of siege.
unlike most of the bad players who don’t understand strategy we just know how to use the siege we have, but all the siege in the world won’t work against superior numbers.

Joking aside, Isle of Janthir welcomes all who come for what ever reason. Mend has been nothing but helpful and respectful since coming to IoJ. We accept your apology Odies and I think Mend will stay off the forums like wise. An attack on Mend would be an attack on IoJ.

Though I am excited that where restarting our server player involvement initiative, and if it’s anything like it was during leagues it will be a blast!

Actually Morn, he was right. I was using that AC from IoJ’s Citadel….. I can no longer hide it.. They caught me fair and square. I now have the power to control legendary guards so they no longer can kill me. I shall be known as the all mighty sniper from here on out.

What ignorance. Did this forum really need this post? lemme guess, you are the kind of person who brings up someones dead puppy at a party right? cant say this is the first time I saw you post idiocy, oh well.

some of the responses to your post give a clue that some of [mend]s leadership has serious “issues”. maybe you should have stuck with “I dont get all of this” and not posted that which you dont know jack about.

I personally wasnt involved with any of the [mend] falling out, and miss many of my friends who went with [mend] to IoJ. To this day I think the [mend] rank and file made the wrong choice, but everyone has to find their own way. I wish them the best.

But while I got along with flappy and ran with him, he was very poisonous to the environment on HoD. He and some other members of [mend] were kittens to many people. And rank and file like me people who just wanted to make HoD a better place suffered for it. In the end, the departure flappy and other leaders was like having a terminal illness cured. We would never have had the success we have had if he and other [mend] leadership did not leave HoD.

Other than honeybun’s post-first-learn-second idiocy I have nothing but respect for IoJ and am enjoying our match.
